In case you haven't guessed, I said YES!
just to remind us all (me especially!) that there are even better things in life than paying off your mortgage!!!
(Especially relevant to me, as I may have to scrape back some of my overpaid mortgage to pay for DH to have an operation, if the NHS doesn't pull its socks up! _pale_Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

The chart is great news for us all so...why am I depressed by my figures (which I obviously knew anyway before TG posted the chart and I'm over 50% of the way towards my goal)?
I know this doesn't make sense at all but my remaining balance seems so high compared to some of you lucky peeps that paying it off (even with overpayments) is still 5/6 years off and this seems like a life sentence at my age.
Sorry, don't want to rain on the parade. I just hate the fact that 50% of my monthly payment is pure interest and that the calculator shows several years before this reduces to something even slightly more acceptable e.g. 30%
Anyways, feel free to ignore my moan. You have all done very well.2009 CLEAR MORTGAGE:starmod: (17/2/09) LIVE ON 4K Q1:staradmin(£5,405) SAVE 30K (£9.500)0 -
