  • Hello all and thanks for the messages!

Hope nobody minds me posting this - I know it is completely off subject but thought you'd like an update:

Unfortunately the vet couldn't save her leg. Whilst the fracture could have been fixed the blood supply to the foot had been cut off for too long (apparently a couple of hours would have been too long) so it had died.

So she is now a 3 legged cat. Went and got her last night - she's a bit grumpy and uncomfortable obviously. We put all her stuff in our bedroom as we thought that was her favourite place so that now stinks of fish!

She is struggling to get onto her feet (which is really upsetting to watch) and is fed up with the collar but once up she has amazed me by being able to walk relatively well - she's jumped up onto the bed and made a bid for freedom already - as I left the room she pushed past me ran down the stairs and sat at the back door waiting to go out!!!! Obviously trying to stop her moving too much until her wound has healed but looks like that might be difficult!!!

She's had a bit of breakfast and more painkillers so hopefully will be ok today. Got to take her back to the vets on Monday so now need to go in and sort out with work (really want to stay at home today but think I need work on side to allow me the trips to the vets I'll need over the coming weeks).

Just a quick reminder I shall be doing the chart on Saturday so if you want to get on today is your last chance. We currently have 85 on it and I have had lots of PM's so it should be a good one.

Minimoocow glad your cat is home, I gave mine an extra big cuddle after reading your post.

Also a big welcome to our new members everyone who has PM'ed me have got a quest number and are on the chart so well done.

  • minimoocow we are very interested in how she is doing poor thing so don't worry at all about off topic :)

It's amazing how animals can adapt. My mum had a goat with some sort of paralysis problem once and she had to pick her up and carry her out in the morning and then back into the shed at night and everyone thought my mum was mad and should just have had her put down but strangely enough one day a couple of years later she just got up and walked. Erm I've just realised how off topic that story is. I apologise I am a bit hungover today and anything to keep me away from the stuff I ought to be doing.

I'm looking forward to seeing the chart to see how we're all doing. I wonder if it will have a percentage of target field.

    Hi everyone

Sorry to hear about your cat MMC but glad to hear that she is back home, sounds like she is doing very well at such an early stage.

Looking forward to seeing the chart, great to know that so many people have been able to update TG. With 95 active participants on the chart (according t othe first post) we just need updates from the remaining 10 people please so we can get the most accurate picture possible :)

Right today is the day - CHART TIME - anyone wants to PM me with their figures there is still time. Need to get dressed and have breakfast first but have already won £25 on bingo.

That should work out at £10 from greasyplam, £25 win, £20 BB still to play with minus the £10 I put in. Not bad before I even got out of bed.
