SS did it for me last night - and earned me £145!!! Will be able to withdraw it in a couple of days, so that will be a big help if i dont find a replacement by mid September!!!
I didnt really have the £55 either, but as long as i can withdraw it before the 1st, im ok (borrowed my bills money!!!)

Having lurked for a while, silently admiring the progress everyone is making on here, can I join in please?

Details of my progress since May (moved to a bigger house, with scary big mortgage!) are in my signature. My goal is to get £121,000 into the offset savings by the end of the 3 years (making the mortgage balance below £100k).

Good luck to everyone on here!!
18 May 2007 (start of Mortgage):
    Coventry Offset Mortgage £220800
    Offset Savings: £0
    Mortgage Balance: £220,800

    14 Jan 08
    Coventry Offest Mortgage: 219002
    Offset Savings: 28200
    Mortage Balance: £190802

And still chucking every spare penny into it!
  • Hi Hammersfan, welcome to the gang! You'll need to pm Tallgirl and Dithering Dad to get on the list.

Superfaast gran ... go to the debt-free wannabe board and you want the thread titled "ss's debt-free diary" (or something like theat). It should be quite near the top as loads of people have been asking him for info :D He's one of the regulars on there and is on a mission to get rid of his debt (see his signature) ... the amount of people who can vouch for how good this offer is on that thread speaks for itself ... he does get £12.50 referral bonus for wasch person but he does all the work for you so its well worth it, and its helping him become debt-free too :D

Re SS's thing, be careful signing on to V - I was happily following ss's list of what to do, but v won't let me back in, it won't recognise my username OR my password, and after changing my password 5 times they said they'd ring me back this morning. They haven't, of course.

I can't begin to hope to pay my mortgage off within 3 years (without some form of divine intervention) but I am hoping to try to make sure the actual amount I pay off each month is 500. My contractual payment makes my payoff just over 350pcm and I can only make overpayments of 200 at a time so I'm going to try my best for that where I can. As I am massively stretched already it might not always be possible but right at the top of my mind I have the fact that that extra 200quid pcm will make the difference between 25 and 20 years remaining. Assuming this level of payoff I'm hoping to get my mortgage down to 210k within 3 years (which sounds depressingly like it's hardly anything for 3 whole years but it's a goal so that's what I'm going to try for).

    Good luck everyone :)

Well, if I had any bubbly right now, I'd crack it open. Not only did I solve the v games problem (I think it was me, not the site - I was trying to log in on the wrong page - but it *was* on the page). But anyway, I logged in, used my debit card, and pm'd the details to ss, so I'm in their queue, and they're presumably beavering away somewhere doing their thing.

And Fridge Guy has just been! I now have a Hotpoint Iced Diamond with a door to its little freezer compartment and an automatic defrost button!!! I'm such a happy bunny I can't tell you. I *do* have a bottle of white wine, actually, and you know, I'm not going to cook - egg and beans tonight, its already 7.20, s*d it, I'm gonna kick back and listen to the motor on my new fridge cool the wine I'm about to drink. Hurray!
