I've just been to Mr T's and spent £153.13. I used shed loads of tokens and paid £95.01 and have stuff to return now as they are wrong or the wrong sizes. The stuff to return comes to £100+!!!
Just wonder whether I should take it back with my receipt or not as they might cotton on?
I think I may take it back without the receipt and let them give me a gift card, waddya reckon?Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Just logged on and wanted to say a big THANK YOU to Tallgirl for all her hard work, also Dithering Dad for starting it all of in the 1st place.
Its great to see how well everyone is doing, keep it up!
I've been cutting back a lot this month and shaved even more money off the food budget. Todays lunch was a hit with everyone...I sprouted some mung beans on the windowsill at the weekend and we had them with home made hoummous and warm pitta pockets, everyone thought it was extravagant but the whole thing came to well under a pound to do
It would be great to feed my mortgage pig with unspent food budget money this month!Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

It's really good to see how you guys and girls are all getting on. I have been following this thread since it's inception. I haven't got a mortgage (thankfully- I rent currently) but am thinking of joining you when I get a job in a quest to pay off my student loan - I know it should go on the student money saving board but I would feel much more motivated on here - I also know that there is not necessarily a financial advantage to paying it off earlier put am thinking of it as a challenge and preparation for when I get a mortgage and may use the total saved up for a trip abroad or something else.Making my money go further with MSE :j
How much can I save in 2012 challenge
75/1200 :eek:0 -
Thanks Tall Girl.
Isn't it great to see how well everyone is doing!
We had a good start with some extra cash coming in recently, but going on holiday later in the month, AND I've just ordered some new furniture, so things will slow down a bit now.
Nevertheless, will carry on overpaying, even if it is only small amounts.
The saving will have to be put to one side for this month, but should be back on track in September.
Good luck everybody, till next time...Mortgage Free in Three - number 94

Thanks Tall Girl from me, and well done everyone for getting us to over £350k of overpayments!
I don't think I will be able to do much this month in particular as the wedding costs are killing me and its all I can do not to resort to using the credit card. All the money I have made on eBay sales this month has gone straight to the wedding. In one hand - out the other so to speak!
Am still keen to throw as many pennies as possible into the mortgage anyway though! Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

I've been pondering this for a few days.
I have the £10,000 that I aimed to have in three years, in fact I've got more.
It's a combination of redundancy and a further 'compensation' payment to me from my previous emplyer.
At the moment it is all working hard in various places. I've been wondering whether to say I have reached my target as technically I have, but at the same time I haven't 'grafted' for it as I should have done. I should earn about 3 or 4k on the interest of all my savings over the 3 years until the challenge ends......
Oh, what the hell. Put me down as £10,000 wiped off please. Whatever happens between now and April 2010 I will keep that money to one side earning interest and so by then it will be even more."Stay Wonky":D

yes, thanks again to TG, DD and everyone else for starting and running this - it has made the biggest difference to my financial life. i would never have thought about doing this o/wise.
thing is - i now can't remember what life was like pre-MSE and pre-MFiT. really.....
going back to the coupons debate, especially printed - i went to ask at asda cs. they said they haven't taken them (internet printed) in ages. bother!
so i decided to carry on as many staff accept them - as they are colour. also today tried one on the self-service tills for the first time and voila! works a treat!
p.s i was hoping to make the sub-100k at the end of october. so if the next target is 10th of oct i'd better get cracking - i won't be beat!0
