With most leanders you can phone up for your current balance, without being charged (except for the phone call). A more regular statement might carry a charge, so if that's the case, only get one when you need to - no point reducing your overpayment to pay for a piece of paper every month!

We have a mortgage with Britannia. I was just wondering how you go about getting your monthly balances/statements. Can you just request them? Or do some charge?

We currently only get an annual statement.

I am also with Britannia and only get annual statements.

As they don't do internet access either, the only method of getting your balance on a monthly basis is to phone them.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Thanks angelavdavis...looks like I'll remain in the dark then. The mortgage is in OH's name so they won't deal with me, and getting him to find out would be a minor miracle...lol.

Thanks TG, a lot of effort and greatly appreciated my everyone!!

Benbenandme - I'm lost for words! 61K gone already!! Did I miss a lottery win or something???? :)

Well done everybody, only 4 months in and we already owe £355k less to the banks/building societies! Using the BoE base rate, we're all collectively saving £1702 per month in interest payments!! Yayy!! Go gang!

p.s. As there was such a good turn out for this quarter's spreadsheet I have crossed out any names on the OP that do not appear on TG's spreadsheet. I'm pretty sure that most of the ones I've crossed out left the challenge long ago, but if I am wrong, then please post/pm and I'll re-instate. All crossed out names will be deleted at the next quarterly update!
