I want to replace my iphone 3GS, and hve been pricing up some iphone 5 deals. I like the look of going through Quidco to the Carphone Warehouse, then getting the £33 per month deal with an upfront cost of £49. 24 month contract. With £100 cashback, I think that is £741 over 2 years.
This gets 600 mins, unlimited texts and 500Mb data. I havent used over 300Mb for the last year, so that sounds fine to me.
Whilst accepting iphones arent moneysaving, and that they aren't everyone's cup of tea, please can you give me your thoughts on this deal. Thank you x

Looks good as long as the low data offering is enough for you. I use more than that in a day or 2 so wouldn't be my best option, but looks decent for you.0

If you are not downloading loads of music or videos you will be fine
I only use about 200mb a month out and about if that
I use wifi when indoors to update my apps.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.

The iPhone is a ridiculously expensive item, and it seems like the cost of the service on top of it isn't that much.
One thing to consider (of course) is the likelihood of the phone going wrong/getting broken/being lost; what would the impact of that be?0 -

It is what YOU are happy with, not the consensus, I pay £21 for my sim only at 600 mins, 1000txt and unlimted data, 500mb is ample for sensible use.The iPhone is a ridiculously expensive item, and it seems like the cost of the service on top of it isn't that much.

Like you the iphone isn't for me, but the OP did cover that in his post, the likelehood of it going wrong? the handset has a warranty.0 -
Actually I like the iPhone, and I have a 3s.
I think the handset has 1 y year warranty, whereas the contract is 2.0 -
To be honest, I believe iPhone 5 is asking way more price that its actual value.0

That could be the case with some other handsets, plus there is the availability to purchase additional warranty, I like the iphone too but it's not my 1st choice of handset, but it's not me that is purchasing it, I think the OP has found themselves a fair deal.To be honest, I believe iPhone 5 is asking way more price that its actual value.
Even top of the line handsets are relatively cheap nowadays, considering in the past a Nokia 2110 / 2140 would have cost £300 on top of a contract often with no inclusive airtime. And £300 then was worth much more than £300 nowadays.0 -

Absolutely correct. As much as I respect everyone's opinion, I don't see iPhone 5 as something really special which can be as much expensive as it is nowadays.0 -

Yes, for you or I it's not special, but whether we accept it or not, people still line up to buy them, there is talk of a 5S being launched as soon as June 2013, with the look of the BB10 and coming soon S4 (plus variants) and Sony deciding to offer a proper flagship handset after MWC , CES, Jan/Feb 2013, it does seem possible as the home screen and user experience plus technology is leaving the Apple having to play catchup (IMO) .0 -

True. The key thing here is how they advertise their products. I remember those days when Sony used to be the trend-setter of electronics mainly mp3 players, mobile phones and etc. I would definitely give a kudos to the marketing team of Apple; they know how to market the same phone over and over again by using innovative advertising techniques and methodologies.0
