Sorry Twink
It was just about service personel being in the forces, the worry, the commitment, the buttons it pushes. I hope I haven't upset you. You have had the worry within your family. Maybe didn't word it very well. So sorry.
love GB0 -
It has been 13yrs since I left the army, I think working mother's role has changed over recent yrs. But I remember 1 girl falling pregnant and she fought hard to remain in the forces. My friend has just had her second baby. She's a nurse posted in Portsmouth. Luckily her partner & his family are close to hand with childcare help. As of yet, she's had no major over seas postings!!!
Like you say GB - how can anyone function correctly working 80hrs a week.?
Right - OH is watching football. Im off to bed. Ive just loaded the WM again, thats 3 loads today!
Good night all - catch you tomorrow

DANNA -I don't know where the rest of my day has gone. I have had several phone calls - good ones, from family - and then had to cook the dinner and clear that up and all of a sudden it's evening. So, no bread yet but will be the very first thing I do in the morning. I have bought brown bread flour and white bread flour and some yeast. Just need to decide which one to do first. I usually eat wholemeal bread because I find shop-bought white bread makes me feel bloated but, as the bread flour I have bought is organic and does not have a list of c**p ingredients on the packet, I'm assuming it will be just as good as the wholemeal! Anyway, baby steps as they say but will keep you informed!
CSARINA - French wine is the best and the cheapest if bought in France! We know someone who has a vineyard near Tours and she said they keep the best wine for the French and send the rest abroad to the rest of us. I never get a hangover with French wine as long as I drink it there or bring it back with me. I can never get my head around how much cheaper it is! Enjoy!!
Hope everyone has a brilliant evening. Weather forecast looks good again from Thursday so hopefully this grey stuff is just a blip.
Cheers:beer: :beer:KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

uuurgghhmmmfffhh! translated as: I'm so knackered I can hardly speak! Been to Hereford & back today - 300 mile round trip & 6 hours + in the car. Glad I don't have to do it too often - in fact I don't have to do it ever again as todays meeting was a handover with a colleague who is going to be taking over from me :T
BiL came to the rescue for dinner - I was contemplating something on toast, but he rang to suggest a chinese takeaway on the way home, for which I was most grateful. It was yummy too, with enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow
(We had the meal for 2 - easily enough for 3 greedy guts)
Am aiming for a no spend week this week, as it's not payday til Monday & there ain't an excessive amount left in the bank. Lasagne for dinner tomorrow night, for which I already have all the ingredients, and Thursday night we're out for dinner with my boss (which more than likely I will have to pay for on my company credit card & claim back through expenses
). Should be able to scrape through the weekend with a minimum veg shop, and there's loads in the freezer to keep us going. I might put a freezer inventory up on the fridge door to remind me what needs using up.
((hugs)) to grannybroon; my favourite aunt is currently being treated for breast cancer & starts her first round of chemo treatment this week.
Sorry for wiffling, but there's only football on & I can't being myself to be very interested in it!0 -

We always take as much cash as we can to buy wine, I love the real thing too!!!!! One of the best buys we ever had was 3 years ago, we went to stay with some friends in the Lot, they took us to a little winery just outside Bretenoux, we took 4 x 5litre water containers and got them filled with the best red wine I have ever tasted from Cahors, out of a wine pump, drawn straight from the barrel and all for the equivilent of £2.50 a litre.  ........boy how I wish we lived there.:D
There is a very good wine warehouse just off the motor way called Calais vin, they often have special offers there, 18 bottles for the price of 12......I bought a superb white burgundy from there. The manager of Dover Port buys all his wine there, we met him on one of our trips.......very pleasant chap....I will be toiling through Auchan and Champion to see whats what, we usually buy 2 0r 3 different wines to try, we if we like it we go back and fill the trolly........I wish we had more room to store wine, we just have a rack that takes 36 bottles and that does not last long in this house....I will also be looking for champagne, my friends daughter is getting married in Novemeber she is having a drinks party for Lucy in August and wants some Champers for that........we may be able to pick some up for her, will have to see. Could do with a small van rather than the car, but never mind. Parmesan cheese, Rillettes, smoked salmon, french coffee, smoked ham are also what we will be looking for, oh I forgot..........goats cheese and brie, really the list is endless..also want to look for the proper french bread flour to use in my breadmaker.............
We really wanted to re-locate to France some years ago, but after 3 tries fell through we decided it was not meant to be, so we spend as much time there as we can...........had thought about buying a caravan holiday home there so we could spend 6 months of the year there...................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
