TESCO iPhone sim rip off

  • You can go to store, (but they may have none) or request a nano sim via on line chat. But really its very simple to cut your existing sim to size, I have done 3 without problems. Then simply either go to store or phone customer services and ask them to transfer you to the tariff you want.
TBH you may find it better to go to the £10 month rolling sim as you get 1gb data instead of 500mb, which is a safeguard when using iphone.

It's not that simple as the OP is on 12 month contract and the min term hasn't expired yet.
  • Just say you've upgraded your phone to a Muskitek DC8, which requires a Nano SIM, so you need a replacement.

When they say they don't know what a Muskitek DC8 is, say it's the codename for a new phone that "your employer" is "developing" but you're not allowed to say who that actually is.

    :)
  • The process of chopping a sim down to size is quite straightforward.

I cut a full size sim down to nano size with nothing more than some sharp scissors. There was no need to grind anything down as when you insert the sim into the iphone 5 the springs inside adjust for the slightly thicker sim. The end result didn't look as neat as a factory made nano but it worked just fine.

If you're prepared to spend 3 or 4 minutes doing this then you can easily avoid any 'iphone 5 tariffs' and save yourself time either fetching a sim or waiting for one to be delivered.

It Says in his first post that he had an option to change tariff, I think there is a similar tariff available on contract.

Thank you guys for your inputs...
I will try my luck on the phone and see if they send me a nano otherwise i will pop in store to try there.
if no luck, then will continue with my current phone till the year finishes in 8 months and ditch Tesco and choose Three deals which is cheaper by 60p :)

The race to the lowest price is not one where customer service counts.

Given you experience with Three back in May when you left I'm surprised you would be in a rush to go back to save 60p. At least with Tesco you get a UK call centre who do bother to phone you back.

You are right mate, Three is crap but I don't like cheaters or people/organizations that try to steal your money.

I consider Tesco being greedy in this nano sim policy and prefer not to give them my money.

But you are right!!! you just reminded me with the horrible experience i had with Three.

By the way, I later joined Virgin when I left Three and they were rubbish.
Their customers service was better than Three but rude sometimes especially when you tell them there are cheaper deals out there, they tell you : "so why don't you join them?!"

Thanks for the alarm!! I won't go back to Three.
