Kwik Fit prices & offers, they don't honor offers, I won't use again

Did they ever quote you a price for the service? Bit confused by that but you sound happy enough, what did they actually do though?
As for the MOT. Thier online adverts say £27.42 as a 50% discount so the £35 you were charged is well over that.
The official test fee is just over £54 https://www.gov.uk/mot-test-fees but garages can offer a discount if they like.
Just not sure how they have been working it all out. Mind, it seems you now paid less than the official 50% off price.
Their MOTs are £35. As I was quoted 50% off(with the full service), I would expect to pay £17.50.
It came up as the full £35.
After a struggle they dropped £10 off to £25.0 -
There's a reason their MOTs and services are so cheap. They'll overcharge/tell you more work needs doing to make up the cash. Kwik-Fit would do MOT and full service on my car for something like £75-100. Took it the most trusted independent specialist in my city and MOT and full service cost £250, was advised of a couple of bits that were unnecessary at the moment but told you keep an eye on, no air sucking through teeth.
I had my last car mot'ed and serviced with them before I got rid. Passed MOT flying colours, but the service 'recommendations' were two pages long and came to £800! Took it to Merc dealer and they couldn't fathom it!
Last 4 cars have sailed through MOTs with only light bulbs to replace.0 -

Ah! Makes sense. Still dodgy they are charging more than the rate online though. Not exactly ringing you with a special discount at all! What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
As a woman I've always found them more female friendly then your usual independent garage. Plus they used to, or I used to think they had, a clear pricing structure.
When they're charging you way over the odds per repair and you keep going back, of course they'll be very friendly to you. They're rubbing their hands together with glee at the very sight of you.
They wanted £400 to do the brakes on my car. £400  I could get the parts for around £120 and DIY or get a spanner monkey to do it for £2-250. KwikFit will get your car done but they don't tell you how much more they charge than anyone else. Granted KF are never short of customers it seems and people do like using them but I've found that like many, you stop going there once you realise just how much you're over paying them.0 -

I pay £48 for my MOT everytime with a garage that ONLY test cars. They don't do repairs and they don't want to. KF do repairs and if they see something they can fail you on to make a few quid they will.
I've never seen an MOT advertised for less than £30 either. VOSA take a large slice of the MOT fee so they have to make that back from somewhere.0 -

It's just been handy to get the annual things both done together.0 -
I went to get the aircon topped up, and after 20 mins they said no point as there was another problem, but, didn't know exactly what. They advised they could not hear the compressor coming on, so said a refil would be a waste of time. No charge.
Had what I thought was a slow puncture, they checked the tyre, no issues, replaced the valve as there was a slight leak there. No charge.
Many years ago used them for an oil change, was cheaper than I could buy the oil.
Bought tyres a few months back, all done online, and they were the cheapest.
So in my experience they have been good.0 -

Any chance of a link.
I'm no Kwik Fit fan, but £17.50 seems a bit cheap.
I'd imagine the online deal was 50% off, so £27.50 and the instore deal was £35 but no money off.
I can't see any place offering an MOT for £17.50, no matter how much work that they might think that they'll bring in from it.0 -

They called me. Yes it seemed a great deal - but it was only if combined with a service.
Otherwise the basic price is £35.00.0
