After 3 fantastic years it's coming back by popular demand for 2013.....................
.................... The £365 in 365 day challange.
The aim: to put in £1 in a day from 1st January 2013- empty it on 31st December 2013 and spend spend spend in January 2014 sales.
In the past people have preferred to start saving straight after Christmas (plus a bit) so they can empty early and get Christmas presents, hence the thread starts today.
People are attempting this in many ways - feel free to take your pick or create your own:
Put £1/ £2/ £5/ £10 at intervals into a money box.
Transfer £1/ £2/ £5/ £10 at intervals into an online savings account.
You CAN include any extra money you wish as you go along.
You can choose to end earlier if you wish to use the money for Christmas.
Happy savings.

ok so 2011 I failed miserably....... mainly due to the arrival of tinywiggle (DS2).
I took what I had saved to pay off credit cards before consolidating my remaining debt.
We are now thoroughly in control of our finances, christmas is all paid for with no outstanding credit card debts so was ready to save into 2012.
2012
started amazingly....no debt felt SOOOO good..............all went well.............
..........till I spent it taking the kids on a few nights away in June.
..........so I started again...........and took it out for a break away in September.
..........................and not really made it back on target since.........I've put a few quid in here and there, plus any random coins laying around.
....................................have over £1000 of debt on credit card again..........long story - check out my diary for more info. But I WILL clear it (tis on a 0% Balance Transfer till about November 2013)
2013
will be MY year.
I'm going to put the £30/ £31 in at the beginning of the month then just add loose change as the month goes on.
