I have a Technika....it doesn't work ! Well I get sound but the picture doesn't stay on for more than a couple of seconds. This was a replacement for another one that didn't work at all.

If it costs more than a few quid to repair, which I'm guessing it will,I'd chuck it away and buy something branded, good tv's are so cheap these days it's not worth buying these own brand supermarket ones, generally
  • Update: the TV repair man took the TV last night and said it would be £60 to repair and will bring it back tonight! He said it just sounds like a fuse has blown within the TV and its easily replaceable

£60 for something that is likely to blow again in a few months?
You could go and get a JVC or Hitachi for another £100 :D
  • Its a 40inch so cant get one that cheap haha. Update he has fixed it and is bringing it back once i'm home from work tonight. He's also offered a 6 month guarantee on his work that if it breaks again he'll repair it for free. In the meantime I shall be saving up for a better TV ha!

Also no need to contact tesco now!

Thanks it appears I might be lucky then.

A post here http://www.whathifi.com/forum/off-topic-and-miscellaneous/comet-administration-what-does-this-mean-for-consumers?page=1 seems to confirm what you say 'All warranties are still covered and will be as they are insurance company backed as stated on back of receipts
