Well the tank is now stocked have checked the water daily and it is all showing good. Fish seem to be happy and so far all looks good the filter is working overtime and it is nice to finally see some life in the tank.

now the hard part, do not over feed!
its tempting to show friends etc and chuck in a bit of food but this just adds to the water problems people face with a fish tank.
feed once a day or even once ever other day, try to control the amount of time the lights are on in the tank, if cold cathode LED lamps this is N/A.
you may run into a bacteria bloom soon, (white mothballs on plants and ornaiments), youll be tempted to empty the tank and clean in out DONT! just persevere with small 10% water changes daily (adding you declorinator a bit at a time) untill the bloom stops, then take out ornaiments carefully with as much as you can not to disturb the bacteria, clean them with distilled/de-ironised water, and replace.
underfeeding is better than over feeding, less fish waste= less ammonia in the water fish are clever and will beg at the tank surface when you open the lid anyway so dont give in if already fed them just find a good balance of what food is just right over a course of a few weeks.
i missed what filter you have on your tank, intank or ecternal make and model, ill research it up and see what LPH its rated at on max outlet.0 -

i had this filter as a secondary to my 5ft tank the weight of the pump head pulls down the bracket till it hits the substrate wich can be annoying, although its a decent filter, if it has the carbon pads in it, buy some water polishing cloth for it and it will have crytal clear water for a long time.0 -
what is water polishing cloth please
ours seems to stay on the glass ok at the moment
