vodafone really getting to me now

hi guys

okay, myself and hubby both changed our handsets to a samsung galazy siii , four weeks ago. We have been a vodafone customer for 15 ( personally and business use ). My husbands phone is absolutely fine.

Here is where the problem lies.

two weeks now I am missing calls, kicking straight into answer machine. Messages are taking 1/2 hour to go through. If am in peoples house, shop , my house downstairs, I get no connection whatsoever.

Rang vodafone a week thursday and told them all this. Said it was the handset as the SIM works in my husbands phone. So they sent me a new handset. Then to top it all up, completely forgot to mention that I should have backed up all my contacts. Gutted to say the least, lost all 250 of them. Mostly business use. I literally cried.

Anyway, still not working. Rang them back on wednesday and they are now sending me a new SIM card as I cannot get into a vodafone shop as all my little one,s have been ill all week.

I have just about had enough. We as a business cannot afford to lose calls. Vodafone just didn,t care.

If the new SIM doesn,t work ( when it eventually arrives ) what other option have I got.??

There are no bars whatsoever on my phone as we speak.

You use your mobile as your primary record of contacts? With a smartphone (particularly for business use), the normal thing to do is store the contacts on your PC (e.g. in Outlook) and synchronise regularly with your mobile.

To be honest with you there was so much going on last week, that I did not import/export the contacts.

Kids ill and so forth. Managed to get a few business contacts from my hubbys phone but not all of them.

Any other ideas as to why this is happening....... NO CONNECTION

Any chance your husband has 3g switched off and is getting a stronger 2g signal as a result?

How did the 250 contacts get into the phone in the first place? You've only had the phone for four weeks.

SMS is not an instant service, if you want an instant service, try an instant messaging app.
If your husband is getting signal and working just fine, then your issue is with the manufacturer not the signal provider.

The problem will be with the phone or SIM card. If you can, rather than wait for the new SIM to arrive, pop into a Vodafone store and get the SIM checked. Although the SIM works fine in your Husbands phone, you could still have a faulty SIM card.

As for your contacts, if you downloaded Kies, you would have been able to back up your contacts, but you would have needed to synchronise your phone with Google and should have backed up your contrats to your gmail account.

You should however, be able to get the contacts back to the phone the same way as you did before the phone was exchanged.
