Spends for yesterday: £5.70 (train for work), 60p (paper), £6.15 (apples, tape, shower gel and toilet roll), £1.00 (OH)

Morning all:)
Sun - £1.50 paper

Wed - £24.05 Xmas dinner:)
Total - £32.55/£50

Budget wise .... errrr it's gone a bit to pot
Fuel: £22.00 / £30

Stopped at the big Mr A on the way back from the hospital (always a bad move!) - and ended up stocking up on the odd thing that the one near me doesn't sell (it's only a wee one where I live).
Anyway, should have enough to last next week, which is the good news ... but the budget is bust this weekand there's still a day to go!

Hi everyone, back after a lovely holiday. Saw the Northern Lights 3 times and it was magical! Shame I can't afford a camera with all the bells and whistles on to capture them, but at least I have the memories and a sore head from too many late nights drinking in Reykjavik!
Missed this earlier in the week. Sounds like you had a lovely time. I would love to see the Northern Lights, my hubby has seen them... so jealous. Don't think we'll be doign anything so glamourous for a while.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Few spends over the last couple of days.
W/C 16th Dec
Groceries - £35 - Spent £22.30 & 60p
Petrol - £25 - Spent £25.10  i went 1p over and took all my willpower not to go up to the next £1.
Meal out on weds - £20 - should be less - spent £7
Friends house on weds - £5 - bottle of lemonade for a £1 should do, but in case i make it the pub later on, i can get one drink!!!! - Spent £5.99 - took bottle of wine instead of nibbles, and a lemonade.
Misc - £15 - Birthday and Anniversary cards to buy plus other misc. stuff - Spent £3.71 & £1.61
£66.21 / £100
I have spent a random £7.60 on other stuff and i cant remember where, been hunting for receipts.
ETA - I've sussed it out.... I had £20 in my purse, bought £22.30 of groceries using bank card, = £42.30 then only took out £50 cash to make my weekly budget. = £92.30. However that has left me £7.60 short, so that's where it is.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
ETO - Glad to hear it wasn't just me who couldn't balance the books this week. Tell you, it's a good thing I don't work in a bank

Totals so far: £68.28/£70.00 (£1.72 left)

Think I'm going to try (another) new tactic next week .... I will get this sussed one of these days!
I'm going to exclude fuel - my budget is £30/week and I tend to always come in around that mark so not really one of the budgets I need to worry about!
It's def Groceries and the Misc spends that are my problem areas!:o
Misc spends will be getting chopped right down as I've now managed to set a revised budget for the Bus Fund ... and reach it :T so don't need to put money into that tin anymore!
Will be pondering on new tactics over the next couple of days!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

(Boss paid for the office to get takeout for lunch! So shocked)

Going to reassess my budgeting. There must be a weekly bus0 -

Def worth looking into - I've been trying to put a bit aside for the bus (get this if there's loads of snow as very rural & huge hills all around me:eek:) and discovered that I could get a 10 journey ticket for £14 - when it's £2 / journey so that's a pretty good saving.
These are also good as they're usually valid for a reasonable amount of time (3 months or so) so it doesn't matter if you're not going to use it everydayGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
