Do Christmas festivities still exist in the workplace?

The fact that I turn up on time, or early to be exact, every day, have had sales increase virtually every week this year and generally go about my job in a pleasant manner should indicate I'm fairly happy doing a good job for my employer and thankful for my job.
As I said it's not really about the money just a little bit of gratitude this time of year would go a long way with my staff.
The other view is that the fact they are not disciplining you, not looking to move you on should mean that you should realise they are happy with your work activities.
I don't disagree that gratitude would go a long long way but it would go along way they other way, ie the employee saying thanks or doing something small for the employer....Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
I got a £10 voucher that can be used in lots of shops, but i'm just in a manual, unskilled job.
My friend is a website consultant for a company, and last year, his 'Christmas bonus' was more than my annual salary!
Not sure if he'll get the same this year or not.....
I tihnk in general, it's reserved for the 'big wigs'0 -
Here, we get a performance based percentage bonus for all employees, and there's a party in the new year, free to employee's, but costs you if you want to bring your partner.
In our own depertment we arrange our own christmas night out, usually to the greyhounds or something.0 -

I actually witnessed this happening this year, never saw it before in any other job, some folk brought in the boss a gift. His gift to us was getting contractors in to clean off and line up the CCTV camera's so he can keep an eye out for candidates for the great January pay off, obviously these folks where trying to earn some brownie points.0 -
We had a 3 course meal and disco which we all had to pay £10 each for, the boss put a Christmas tree up and bought a large tin of chocolates which staff could help themselves to. They disappeared in about 2 hours. I was supposed to work all day today (Xmas eve) but we were really quiet so my boss said I could go home at 10am (paid).0
