  • Getting married abroad is a good way of keeping your budget under control as things are much better value for money in Greece than the UK.
I would say a lot of your guests are probably going to go on hols anyway this year so you are just giving them the option of putting that together with your wedding day. Plus I thought everyone seemed so relaxed and chilled out as they were on holiday and not worrying about work etc :j
From my experience of a friends wedding this year on Lefkas in the Ionian Islands the whole organising experience was stress free, the venue was stunning and private (would not have got the same thing in the UK for same price) waterside ceremony and reception together in same place. The whole thing was under £3k including wine, fees, food and speedboat for the brides arrival! :) Search for Lefkas Weddings on fb

People will say enthusiatically -Oh yes we'd love to go to XYZ destination for your wedding -but when it comes to booking suddenly the excuses start.

Excuses? You need an excuse to not want to spend a fortune to go on somebody else's holiday?

We got married in an ice hotel in Finland; the cost of the wedding was really cheap (a couple of hundred euros for the venue, same for photographer and normal resturant prices for the food). We paid to fly the guests out and paid their hotel bills.

I got married abroad in the US. Most of our friends & family came. The wedding co-ordinator contacted everyone for me so it was so easy to arrange. Plus there were no weird rules about where you couldn't get married I.e outside

We got married in Vegas and it was fantastic.

Lots of options to get exactly what you want, custom flowers, limos etc. Grounds were great for pics, they couldn't have been more helpful.
  • Another Vegas wedding here! Love the area and if you have kids, go to one of the Station Casinos they have cinemas, bowling alleys & Kids quest all on site :)

Same here :D We got married in April 2011 in Jamaica. Rose Hall Suites, Montego bay! It really was the best day of my life!!

We didnt invite family:o as some people could not afford it but we brought a dvd home and everyone was happy! Our photos were out of this world!! White sands, Blue sea and sky!

For the wedding and holiday/honeymoon it cost around £6000 including premium seating on plane, all food, wedding meal, decorations, cetificates, service, witnesses if needed, pastor etc pretty much everything except cost of dvd and photos, although the photographer was included.

I would do it all again tomorrow if I could!!!.....With my husband of course:D
