    I like this thread!

I'm about to order two large money tins (the type you need to open with a can opener): one for me and one for my boyfriend.

The aim of these is to save between now and the start of December - partly to cover Christmas costs for each other and partly to use for our (hoped for) trip to Australia to spend this coming Christmas with my sister and brother-in-law.

I bought a tin last year, about midway through, and when I opened it there was over £700!!! I threw in anything over 50p in that was loose in my pockets, money I got tutoring (I don't do this now though) and also the money I got selling stuff on eBay. I was amazed how much I'd saved!

I want to do the same: eBay money and any loose change. I don't know if I will save £2013 this way as we save together in a joint savings account, but it is a fun target to have! I won't know the total via the tin until I open it, but I think that will be fun :-)

Not having a good day today. Well, its ok but not as good as yesterday.

Spent ages looking for something for someone, can't find it anywhere (it's online, not an actual object).

Now got headache, tv is on in an hour then I'll have to be in bed shortly after that as up early for work in the morning.
  • Does anyone know of a good app for my iPad to track the money I'm earning? Something like excel would be great!

I'm finding this thread motivating and I'm getting lots of good ideas.

Surveys are slow at the moment. I don't seem to be what they'relooking for! I’ve signed up to some more sites and Swagbucks but that is hardgoing tonight.

I've managed to sell some things on eBay and have some more things listedwith bids. I've been selling on eBay for about 18 months and don’t have muchleft to get rid of though.

I’ve just received enough points for a £10 voucher from Shop and Scan. Ifind this really useful, if you can get accepted onto the panel. I usually get1600 points per week for submitting my shopping barcodes and receipts. You need10,000 for a £10 voucher.

I’m hoping to top-up my earnings with cashback and I’m thinking aboutgetting a few more hours in work (to do this I need to actually apply and berecruited to a part time post).

    Thanks for all your suggestions.

Well had 2 sales on ebay yesterday so after taking off selling costs a grand total of 18.00 from there I have 51 items ending in the next week so hopefully this will rise nicely. Also paid for a Commission jumper knitted for a customer added another £40.00, and £5.00 thank you Halifax so a total of £63 added today.

Just realised I have not confirmed earning or saving, I am going to try and earn the extra money.

I spent a few hours logging ISBN numbers from books on to recycling websites last night and made £62.93 :j

I still have some games, books and DVDs left to do over the weekend so hoping that puts me in a good place before I start eBay :)

What recycling sites did you use? I have a load of books back home that I should just bin rather than dump in a charity shop but I'm loathed to throw them out into the main bin! How much did you get for each book and how much was postage etc.? :)

Got an ebay auction ending in 6 hours, currently it's £9.95 but I'm hoping it might go up a bit more as I've had two bids and got 8 watchers :T
