Hi I have had same thing with santandar saying they sent these letters in 2009 regarding a time bar and I can't claim anything as they sent these and I didn't respond! Which I never even received theses! And they sent me templates the other day of these so called letters with no name, date adress on so that surely means nothing! Has anyone managed to get anywere regarding this with there claim or should I give up?0

You can pass it to FOS to deal with, see if they can help, do you have the original claim paperwork that you made, what year did you take this loan out, what reasons did you give for mis sell and what were the reasons they rejected apart from the time bar?.0

I printed forms off online filled them in and sent to santandar (but I didn't photocopy these) anyway they replied other day as I taken the loan out with aliance & Leicester in jan 2007 and finnished paying February 2011 but they've said they santandar took a customer contact exercise for customers who purchased ppi between jan 2005 and 31 December 2007. The exercise took place between jan 09 and oct 09 were they suposably written to me about how they identified problems with sales of ppi and might b eligible for refund in order to investigate I need to contact them as I didn't respond to this they sent a chase up letter advising if they didn't hear bk within 14 days they'd consider matter closed! And financial conduct authority who regulate santandar allow them to place a time limit (time bar) and means I could only complain about sale if I did this within 6 years of sale of policy sold or if later 3 years from the date on letter they sent ( which I never even received otherwise if of claimed!) and they've sen me a leaflet for fos but they've also said as complaint is time barred fos may not b able to deal with it, so I'm left annoyed as they've sent copy's of the letters they suposably sent me but there just templates my name adress or date isn't on these copy's! And if I'd if received them I'd of obviously claimed who wouldn't! So really don't know what to do or were I stand? Thanks for your reply!0

Time thing is strange to me. Santander are about to give me 4.5k for a loan (I had no details of) that I took out with Cahoot in around 2003 and paid up in 2008.0

Did they write and tell you about this loan 4 years ago? If not, you are not talking about the same thing.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

You get three years to complain from being notified that you have PPI and have the opportunity to complain if you feel it was mis-sold. If Cahoot never wrote out to notify then they cannot apply the timebar. If Santander wrote out over three years ago then they can apply the timebar.
It is quite straightforward as long as the timebar letter is suitable (the FSA issued a guide on what the timebar letters should say).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Even if I never received the letters they suposably sent? And they sent me templates of these letters with no name adress or date? As if I received them I'd of claimed obviously. So surely I can claim?0

They only have to say the date they issued it and provide a template of the content to be believed it was posted.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). So with everything I've mentioned by the looks of it there's no way I can get anything back?0

Nope.
