I had a Bissell one, was heavy (compared with a normal mop), and as others have said, you just end up with a filthy 'cap' from it which you then have to wash. I find it just as easy to use a normal microfibre one, get the floor quite wet, then mop up with it almost dry. Cheaper, easier, and (as it doesn't involve electricity) probably safer.

(I threw the Bissell one away when I moved)
  • I've got the steam mop from jd Williams, can't post links yet.

It's great at cleaning, not heavy at all and easy to manoeuvre. Cost me £45.

    Thanks everyone!

I decided to go for the h20 one in the end and managed to get it for £60 off amazon which i was happy with :)
    £2 Savers Club #156! :)
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j
  • Biggest advantage is using steam rather than chemicals to clean. Our Vax one is still pretty new but works fine and seems to do what it says on the tin.
Ours has a carpet attachment which lifts the head slightly off floor and lets it glide but not sure how well that "cleans" a carpet to be honest.

I wouldn't pay a fortune for one but useful to have along with a quick electric floor sweeper like the Gtech ones
