Yes, it will help you see them from a further distance away and anticipate the road ahead. Rather than the vehicle seemingly blending in to the surroundings and making it difficult to see.0 -

As I said to this stupid remark earlier, I can also sometimes see cars at night time as well without lights on a road with street lights. So according to you, perhaps we don't need to have lights on when driving along a lit road at night either then! :doh:PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

With a speed limit of 30 you only need parking lights don't you?0 -
And now you also get the idiots driving in cars with daytime running lights which are extremely bright, when the skies are darkened, this is as bad as driving with full beams on .
that to me is the wider issue - I see people all the time with lights that seem as bright as my full beam lights, now this leaves two options, either 1. the nutters have them on full beam, or 2, more likely in my opinion they're buying these bright as f**k bulbs which I 'm sure are illegal and if I'm right , then the lord only knows what a full beam does with those things
I'd hate to name names or stereotype, but if the cap fits, then the familiar tale of the four rings springs instantly to mind .......0 -
Its annoying
they should have their lights on half hour before sunset, half hour after sunrise, and in poor conditions.
the amount of people that don't is crazy0 -

Why do you think they are called parking lights?
When you are moving you should always use dipped headlights in reduced visibility.0 -

Rule 115 Highway Code

You should also- use dipped headlights, or dim-dip if fitted, at night in built-up areas and in dull daytime weather, to ensure that you can be seen
