  • Had to stop watching the news about the children being shot in Connecticut, what an awful tragedy. I must admit to shedding a few tears. Why the babies? It just doesn't make any sense. My heartfelt sympathy goes to all those who have been involved.
I just had to get that off my chest.

  • My thought are with MSDiva's family today God bless her as she was a great inspiration to a lot of us on here,I still have some of her recipes in my online cookbook.

I had a great day today, and have only just got home .didn't spend too much either which is always a good sign :) less than £45.00
The Crayford Comet store was having a closing down sale and I managed to get a couple of steam irons for 9.99 each one for me and one for eldest DD plus a terrific set of hair straightners which will be a birthday gift for one of my granddaughters next March reduced from over £30.00 to a fiver, and a couple of reams of copy paper for under £4.00.The whole lot should have been over £91.00 and I got it for just over £28.The shop was selling stuff at silly prices as they had to clear the stock ,My DDs ma-in-law got a flat screen t.v. for her bedroom for under £69 instead of £120+.Then we moved on to Bexleyheath where we got even more bargains in Christmas bits and i got a lovely decoration for Christmas from the hospice charity shop for £1.50 and some wool as well for my charity blankets.I was taken out to lunch in the local pub and had a super smothered chicken lunch which my friends OH treated us both too.So a great day was had all round plus we sat and talked the hind legs of a donkey tonight whilst watching some t.v. on and off.
Now I'm just off to bed for a nice rest as I have done quite a bit of walking today so my joints are feeling a bit clapped out at the moment
    see you all tomorrow
Good night God bless all here

    Thinking of Diva to-day

BB...fully in agreement about the massacre in Connecticut....will the US ever see sense and tighten up gun ownership laws, know that they can be got anyway but would make it just that bit harder...thinking of all families involved and children affected.

Nothing exciting going on here, DD3 took us and DD4 out for lunch to-day, so still have some of the lamb from yesterday, think that I will strip bones and freeze meat for a curry at some stage, love lamb curry.

Going out for a welcome home brunch to-morrow, my married nephew and his wife are arriving for Christmas from California, they are on the way as I write as they will have a stopover in Atlanta and often hours of a wait.

SIL who had heart surgery has been moved out of ICU, so obviously progressing well.

Have at last started last blanket, reckon that it will take at least eight days to get it finished but should make it in time for Christmas. Do very little shopping for gifts as usually home made, but have to get a few things so should do that this weekend.

DD4 fell last Friday and hurt her leg, very swollen and sore, she eventually went to hospital yesterday....thankfully she 'just' has torn ligaments, so she is on crutches, I have her car and am now officially her driver, she will stay here the nights when there is school the next day and I will take DGS2 to school, she is most unfortunate ( or careless) as she constantly falls (bl**dy heels!) and cuts her knees or hands or something else...31 going on 5!

Hugs to all in pain or trouble, stay safe and warm
