Morning all
Enjoyed The Hobbit yesterday, maybe not quite as much as The Lord of the Rings but its still better that other stuff at the cinema.
Going to Superdrug to get a few odds and ends, then doing the charity shops. Still haven't posted any Xmas cards - must buy stamps! Also need to find a pressie for best friend. She said yesterday she has been clearing her books as she has too many, so thats one idea out the window
Have a great day everyone!0 -

have a good day everyone and take care in the bad weather xx0 -

We have got it in West Yorkshire too, it's horrendous, just like a ice rink out there, and I had lots to do but am not taking the car out in that. Luckily I could walk (slide!) the school run! It's not even getting properly light because of the fog!
Am hoping this warmer weather hurries up and arrives! I have shopping to do!Grocery challenge July £250

Morning All
Remembering Diva :A
In my calender a snowman......again :snow_laug
It is persisting down here and as black as Newgate's knocker
I was up at 3am because I thought that my nose was running but it was a massive nose bleed:eek: I haven't had one of those in a while:( so I had to change my nightie, luckily I missed the bedding which is lucky seeing as I washed it all on Wednesday.
DH is not well so I phoned the doctor to make an appointment and had to be very firm with the receptionist, first she asked "Can it be dealt with over the phone? ME: "No it can't he is asthmatic and has a chest infection." R: "Well I can't get you in" ME: Look the last time he had this he ended up in hospital, he needs to see someone today" R "Oh well I can get him in at 11.20am"
sistercas  Keep safe and warm
Right I had better get a wriggle on and get some housework done. I am doing a room a day which is easier for me especially because the changes in weather always affect my blooming joints.

Thankyou for thinking of me Donny. Im struggling at the moment but still reading. Hugs xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Miss tru isn't happy, she had her Hep B yesterday, she thought it was one jab then a booster every couple of years. But she has to have another mid-jan (along with a blood test), then another mid-may. She hates needles

1. Insist on lying down.
2. Instruct nurse not to give me the standard running commentary on what she's doing - I don't want to know.
3. Invoke a friendly animal spirit.
4. Mentally "detach" the relevant arm - nothing gory, just imagine it being temporarily taken away, like a plastic doll's arm. It is now no longer a part of me.
5. Converse with animal spirit while nurse does whatever she does.
6. Mentally re-attach arm, thank animal spirit and dismiss it.
7. Insist on remaining lying down for the time it takes nurse to complete paperwork.
And of course Mr LW is always with me throughout the procedure.;)Butterfly_Brain wrote: »

Damp and dark here. Don't mind too much as am one of those strange people who like dark days. Just shows how lazy I am, but I do cosy very well.
Don't ANYONE be put off making the doctor come to the house. I have only ever called the doctor out once. It was at the weekend and my own doc was off. The cover doc refused to come out the first time in spite of me telling him that my son was vomitting blood. He did come out the second time and gave him an injection to stop the sickness. The next morning my own doc came back on duty, phoned me to see what was happening and I burst into tears. He was up in 5 minutes, sent my DS straight to hospital where he died 3 times on the operating table and had to be resuscitated. It was peritonitis. My son was 6 years old. Never take NO for an answer if you are worried. Son now 40 with an impressive scar right across his abdomen.
Stories like BB's and LW's make my blood run cold.
Well, that's done for the festive atmosphere.
Just a few more parcels to wrap here and then about 60 cards to write. Will start on them after lunch - defrosted 2 chicken breasts so will magic them into something delectable.
We don't do much in the way of decorating. We get so many cards that by the time we've got them stuck all over the walls it's quite busy enough for me. A few candles, some ponsettias and lovely clove and orange potpourri and scented oils. That's it.
Well done all of you.
