Parking Eye are running scared of POPLA. So far, whenever POPLA is threatened, they have caved in and cancelled the ticket.

    Write them a terse letter.

    Dear Sirs,

I received your invoice ref xxx in the post. I deny all liability and following advice from moneysavingexpert wish to invoke your appeal procedure for all possible reasons.

I will not be providing further details or entering into any more correspondence with you. I require you to respond to this letter within 14 days and to either cancel the invoice or provide a POPLA code within 35 days. Failure to do this will automatically deem you to have cancelled this invoice.

    Yours,

    yyy

Don't even bother sending them a letter.

    Just completely ignore them.

    They will soon give up.

How much does parking cost if you turned up for just 15 minutes?

Emperor, please tell us exactly what the letter says about POPLA no longer being available.

I might get myself a PE ticket when I'm next in England if they are saying that.

Hi, how can I upload the letter to the forum?

Use photobucket.com, then post the link here minus the http://www part of the link, just remember to remove all personal information from the image
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

from the parking fees ( ie £0.80 for 1 hour) you should eb able to deduct what you owe them, if you pay in 1 hour chucks then you owe 80p if the cost is zero per hour then you multiply that figure (£0.00 ) by the time you overstayed so £0.00 X3.15 =£0.00

Another thing is that technicaly the landowner could say you prevented a potential paying customer from using that space, so they lost a sale, if the car park wasnt full then there would be no loss, so you owe £0.00
the loss of sale aspect is probably highly debatable as well.

As for whos car park it is/was if the car parkbelonged to a retailer, adn was only managed by parking eye, only the landowner can claim for damages/loss as a result of trespass, and so on.

It is perfectly safe to ignore Parking Eye - they have no legal teeth to use to even attempt punishment for your slight overstay... Relax and chill !
I got a 10 hour overstay letter from these scammers recently , it has been safely stored away with all the other seven...
