Now why can't we have a sale like the US site where there were over 50 large jars to choose from - buy 6 or more and $10 each (less than £7 including taxes) when we have a couple of jars at £10 each. I can't believe we have to pay THAT much more in taxes, import etc.?????

Saying that, I might just have to buy a ,couple' of things!

Totally agree, always seems to be a very small range and at higher prices than the US. Unfortunately this annoying issue is not limited to YC.

haven't been in store for a week or more as last time I went in they have a pretty basic range, none of my favourites.

What sort of problems did you have?

We have a clintons and the range of yankee stuff is crap, very basic.

There is a shop called Smart Ideas and they have a massive range of Yankee stuff, accessories and they run the Loyalty scheme.

I think a large part of this is that the EU imposes an anti dumping duty on candles made in China, and I don't think the US does (although happy to be educated if someone else knows different!)

The duty runs at about 40%, then there's VAT on that as well

that would explain the huge price difference, thanks.

Having just been back from America the price difference is huge! I got 3 medium jars in a yankee candle store for $28, around £16.50 which is about the cost of one over here! I got 3 and my friend got 3 and we stuck them all in my hand luggage, afterall they weigh my hold luggage but not my hand luggage so they went in there. If I went back to America YC is the first place I'd be heading!
