the Simply Home range is the cheaper line of YC and don't have the same amount of fragrance in them, so I only buy the standard range now and don't waste my money on the S H ones.

I thought that may be the case; rather like big brand electronics companies making inferior items for supermarket 'bargain' prices.

The simply home tarts are better. Cranberry zest, Cherry vanilla and fruity melon are strong fragrances.

I have found the lilac petals and the bamboo simply home candles to have strong fragrance so I think it depends which ones you buy they are not all weaker

I bought the 3 for 2 medium size ones from Tesco to try them......some of them are lovely and even better than the normal Yankees I get (and pay a lot more for) so its def worth giving them a try......

Some certainly don't smell as strong, but others are fab so you really need to try sniffing them for yourself :rotfl:

Btw this is medium jar candles, I haven't tried comparing Melts/Tarts or Votives.

My Yankee Candles, mentioned above, varied a lot in strength of scent, before being lit, but none were noticeable after lighting.

I emailed their customer service, saying how disappointed I was and they have offered replacements of my choice. I asked whether the Simply Home ones were an economy buy , so less strong and the reply was that they are identical; just reboxed (or re-bottled as they said).
  • Went to Clinton's today and they were buy one get one half price.
Clean cotton is fragrance of the month.

So I got a large Clean Cotton and a Medium Lovely Kiku for £23.48 and the Clean Cotton is priced up at £19.99 so I feel I did quite well. There are probably better deals but they are the ones I wanted!

I am a member of a few Yankee/Village groups on Facebook and I read that Yankee use a different wax now to make their jars and the scents aren't as strong. I've read about lots of complaints of no smell when lit.

I'm only a recent starter on Yankee products and have been put off buying jars by what people have been saying about the quality (or lack of).

I just use tarts at the moment as there seem to be more smell from them.
