Like other people I found this post very disturbing.

My main thought was perhaps the Grandparents had made provisions in their will for their grandchildren! how does she know!!!!!!!!

But also I was concerned about how she thought her BIL should compensate her children because he did not have any!

Both my boys will be in a similar situation, first son & wife are not into kids, their decision and so be it, second son loves kids and will no doubt have many, but I am sure No 2 son would not expect 1st son to give hand outs.

At the end of the day it is peoples perogative to live their lives how they want to wether you want kids or not.

Any money/property left will be equally divided between the boys, it will be their decision what they do with it after.

Both my boys have been bought up to work for what they want and I am very proud of them, they both have their own houses and earn a good living, yes we have helped them along the way but only in as much as deposits for their first houses (which were both paid back).

Any spare cash that we have will no doubt be spent on travelling and living our lives to the full, they will both inherit a property here & in Spain, this they are more than happy with and encourage us to enjoy our lives.

This OP, in my opinion is selfish and I can envisage (sp) a family fued when the grandparents leave this world.

Thank goodness the husband sees some sense in all this.

i cannot believe the cheek and rudeness of some people.they havent even died and she is already saying who she thinks should have their money.
she seems a very selfish woman even though she seems to want things for her children.people make of life what they have and what they can succeed in,i dont think her children when they are older that they would apperciate they money knowing how it come to them,in a nasty way, saying that if that is the values she is teaching them, sadley that is what they will become..just like her.
appreciate what you have got x

I wondered how come she is so sure that that money exists at all. Unless she has been poking her nose where it definitely didn't belong she could be in for a shock.

As a baby boomer myself, I don't think she is one, probably too young. She is just greedy. Her posts elsewhere are quite illuminating too - she got a fair bit of stick on the ebay board too.

definately greedy - just because someone doesnt thave children and may appear to be more financially secure - doesnt mean they are

there are so many horror stories about fights/arguments after the reading of a loved ones will...

personally i wish my mother would move and spend the money on herself........ but she enjoys what she does........ and doesnt want the hassle of downsizing

I notice that she doesn't suggest that her children should have her husband's share instead of his brother's......

I think this lady should start thinking about now and let her children enjoy their grandparents, rather than think about money. My last grandparent died when I was 2 and my own parents died before I married so never got to see their grandchildren.

I am sure we all feel that houses are too expensive and how hard it is for the kids today, but our children aren't that daft and hopefully will carve out a good life for themselves.
