Take heart in the responses to the OP.0

yes thanks littlevoice. It is good to know that there are still lots of people with real family values0

I am in my late 40's and know so many people who seem to be "obssesed " with what parents, in laws etc are going to leave them. Ive made my own way in the world and worked for what I have, and expect my kids to do the same. Some time ago, my grandad died and left me a bit of money. It wasnt much, but I felt really guilty spending money that he had scrimped and saved all his life for. I would have much rather he spent it on himself.0

i did see this thread yesterday.
i wonder what the original OP would think if she looked into the future and imagined that one of her children was writing it about her?0 -
What a money grabbing selfish woman

What will really annoy me is that his brother's inheritence would just remain in a bank account until they died and be passed to his wife's side of the family in all probablity.

Thank goodness I'm a war baby, these baby boomers are nasty pieces of work with no morals, values or ethics. And guess who brought them up !.................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Here's a young 'un stopping in after reading in that thread it was being discussed here. LittleVoice is right, and beyond the responses/thanks in the thread, I personally don't know a single person in the world who would agree with the sentiments expressed.0 -
I agree with you Kittie this "lady" has a very unpleasant view of the world, and appears to be totally greedy, selfish & unfeeling. Luckily, whilst there may be some in this world who probably think along the same lines, I feel that most people do not and would be horrified with her views.
Obviously caring parents want to help their children out financially but certainly not if it means causing such pain to grandparents, or our siblings etc.
Most of us wouldn't dream of thinking along the same lines as this woman, in fact I would suggest that it probably wouldn't even occur to anyone who was in anyway half-way decent and with any kind of moral scruples.
Don't let her get to you.0 -
I'm definitely not a "silver saver", I'm 23, and I think the woman is horrible.
I agree with some of the posters on there and hope that they leave all their money to charity!0
