Hi all,
I have successfully claimed via the financial service.
Wanted £1820 and Lloyds have settled for £1844, now just waiting for the money to be paid into my account.0 -
hi i am claiming through f o s ,has anybod had sucess with them ,i have waited 8 weeks and i have been told it could be another 3/4 months
just dont have time to do it myself as i ahve a disabled daughter to look after
and that is enough stress to last me a lifetime
man thanks0 -
The FO is as busy as the courts are with reclaims so it is bound to take time just the same as it would if you put the claim through the courts so you just need to sit tight and wait.0

Heya i started with the F.O today. They have told me because I have already been waiting for 6 weeks by Abbey then they will write to them and say they have 2 weeks left then their 8 week timescale is up.I have sent in all copies of the letters i have sent and also attached the recorded delivery stamp so they cannot deny ever receiving the letters.
So hopefully I should know something soon.I will let you know how it turns out.0 -

Hi,
Has anyone filled in the complaint form for the Financial Ombudsman or have any link as to what to write.
Not entirely sure what to write & dont want to make a mess of it, say the wrong things.
Cheers!!0 -
SUCCESS WITH CLYDESDALE BANK!!
You'll be glad too know that I have been successful in reclaiming nearly £3400 worth of unfair bank charges with the clydesdale bank - so it can be done.
I went down the route of the usual template letters, they came back eventually and said no, I replied saying I was going to the Financial Ombudsman which I did and today I received 2 cheques totally over £3400!! cant believe it.
So there you are, it is possible for the clydesdale bank to refund these illegal charges, although the letter they sent was basically trying to say it was really my fault and I should have looked after my account better blah blah blah - they then paid me back the WHOLE amount including all the interest that I had calculated thanks to the spreadsheet available.
No need to go down the court route, just go to the financial ombudsman get them involved and then hey presto a nice little cheque will appear!!
Good Luck everyone.

Does anyone have experience with reclaiming credit card charges through the FO? Do the banks settle for the full charge or charges minus the OFT's recommendation of £12?
I have an offer from Natwest and Mint for charges plus interest minus £12, but I'm not satisfied with that. I'm considering the FO or the MCOL route.0 -
hi, i am claiming bank charges of £4670 through the FOS. i am not sure how they work, they didnt really give me much info apart from a leaflet of their procedures. there are many claims that they deal with and sure their procedures differ. i am just wondering if anyone has had a successful refund by going through the FOS rather than the courts? and what experiences you have of the FOS?0

A lot more people have won using the FO than have posted here and all their experiences have been very positive about how helpful the FO have been.
As they are busy they are saying 3/4 months however a lot of the successes have said they got their money in 3/4 weeks!0
