  • Hi

I wouldn't deal with Whistletree solicitors direct. Contact Paul Tilley at Howlett Clarke solicitors. Plenty of links in this thread. He will advise you on the extent of your claim
  • I've tried contacting pt2537. No answer yet. Can anyone else help, please?

  • Just for reference, in case anyone is in the same boat, I offered Landmark Mortgages £16,000 in full and final on my unsecured loan (balance outstanding £22,400). This was rejected, without any reason other than "they dont have to accept offers". I then offered them £20,000 in full and final, I have been ignored. They have sent me a redemption statement though on the full amount but showing a "Mortgage Discgarge fee of £250.00". Be careful as I challenged this as there was nothing in the unsecured loan agreement about a "mortgage discharge fee" and they have now taken this off. It is onlt £250, but still they have taken thousands and thousands off me so not willing to hand them a penny more!

The worst decision of my entire life was taking out a together mortgage, I was young and didnt understand, it has had a major affect on my life and my mental wellbeing, sometimes just wanting to end it all because of the financial pressure. I live for the day when somewhere, someone wins a case against these crippling interest charges on these loans over £25k, and we get a refund like people who had loans under £25k.. why are ours different. So unfair.

If you have a complaint about a mortgage lender, you first complain to them about it, if your not happy with their response, you then involve the financial Ombudsman Service, who will take it further.

The thread may not get updated often but Howlett Clarke solicitors are still very involved with many cases
