As previously announced UK Asset Resolution Limited (UKAR) has been exploring potential options for the divestment of its mortgage servicing activities in order to ensure continuity of service and long term stability for customers. Following a competitive process we are pleased to announce that we have entered into a period of exclusivity with Computershare.
This transaction follows the successful sale of £13bn of assets announced in November 2015 and will enable UKAR to continue to maximise taxpayer value through the controlled wind down of its balance sheet, whilst ensuring stability and continuity of service to customers. Computershare will be able to build on the proven skills UKAR has demonstrated in debt management and serving customers over the past five years.
Key Points
£30bn of assets which will be managed by Computershare will continue to be owned by Bradford & Bingley (B&B), Mortgage Express and NRAM. There will be no changes to the terms and conditions of mortgages.
Customers will continue to have their mortgages serviced by skilled colleagues and will not need to take any action.
The contract will be for a seven year term.
Some 1700 colleagues based in Sunderland and West Yorkshire will transfer to Computershare.
Post separation UKAR will comprise around 250 employees who will continue to manage the balance sheets of NRAM and B&B on behalf of HM Treasury and, through UKARcs, administer the Government’s Help to Buy Mortgage Guarantee Scheme and Help to Buy ISA.0 -
Hi all,
Today is the first I have become aware of all this and I am learning fast. I think.
I took out a together mortgage with the £30k unsecured loan in 2006. Then due to a relationship break up I topped this up with £20k secured borrowing in 2007.
I managed to break even selling my house to clear the debt in Sept 2014. I walked away completely empty handed after 8 years of paying around £1000 a month. So im watching this thread with interest.0 -
Not been here for a while. Seems like there's still some people progressing this - good luck. What effect if any does the recent computer share thing have on unsecured delinked loan customers?0

We have started the ball rolling with NRAM. We have had counsels opinion on the merits of the legal arguments and the cases. Its very good and very positive in light of the recent case law on unfairness.
We have everything in place now so its just a case of getting the questionnaires back so we can review the cases. Things look very positive, especially as we have just secured an unfairness ruling under s140A on a different lender, and the Court in that case awarded over £10k .0 -

Hi, I'd sort of given up on this matter & not been on here for ages. What is this new development?0 -
I stopped paying my together unsecured loan several months ago and they've defaulted me. They can sing for the money. 10 years paying a 25k loan and only about 1k paid off. Just robbery. Even without the paperwork and deception from NR, the usurious rates are just outrageous. I've paid over 25k in interest. Not interested in paying any more , can't pay won't pay.
The following is tongue in cheek..but perfectly true.
Just do what we did and that's go bankrupt..have the personal unsecured loan wiped and Northern rock tell you they don't want to take the house.
£15,000 knocked off mortgage...cant grumble.0
