I'm in with a £200budget for Jan please, 2013 is my year, I can feel it!
My husband is promoted in March, we move house (our new house costs us about £300 a month more  ) so the £60 a month pay rise will be gone in a flash! But I need the credit card paid off by next Christmas so I can buy the new camera I need.
I will not fail, it's time for me to grow up and stop aspiring to be something I'm not by spending money I don't have and aspire to do better with my businesses :money:NSDs 7/20

Hi,
I am not very good at keeping up with the thread as I have limited access to the internet. I will be trying to update my signature weekly though as well as trying to keep a few other challenges going.
Please can you put me down for £250 per month (or £3000 the year) I'd like to get it less but I really need to see what we are spending money on.
DH has a weekly budget for works meals which isn't included but this is for 2 adults, 1 infant, 2 dogs and 1 cat ... It will also include all pet injections and food as well as nappies and toiletries.
My main aim for 2013 is to track what I spend, meal plan and throw less away. I want to do this as healthy as possible so this year will be my baby steps year to get into the swing of things.
Thank you for the kind ladies (possibly men) that run this challenge - it must be a lot of work!

Hi,
can I join please. I've recently decided not to go back to work when my maternity leave ends (I hated my job and paying nursery fees for my 2 children would have wiped out most of my salary anyway). I love being at home with the kids but we really need to cut our spending down a bit. I am cooking from scratch now I am at home but we still waste far too much food and spend a fortune on groceries. I am not very organised and every time we pop to the local shop for something I've forgotten we seem to come out £20 lighter. To be honest I have no idea how much we actually spend so my new year resolutions are to meal plan and to start recording what we are spending.
I am going to guess at £300 for Jan (1st - 31st Jan) and hope we can reduce it over the following few months.

Oooh this is going wrong.... No milk was pulled out to defrost so we had to buy in 1 pt this morning (and a 4pt was pulled out to defrost), one of my lurking lemons I was going to use up had starter to go mouldy and needed replacing, and Mr Shortie decided for breakfast we were going to have Jamie O's epic hot choc with waffles but we needed Horlicks, Mr Shortie wanted some Goosefat for the roasties and I needed another block of cooking butter. ... sigh.... this month is going wrong rapidly! We're now eating into the '3 weeks of Jan' allocation - bottomsApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500

Put me down for £330 please. I'm a beginner with 2 adults and 2 children. Budget includes all food, nappies, wipes, toiletries, OTC medicines, cleaning, pet food. I'm planning already - going to do a whole month's meal plan and edit as I go along if I have to. I plan to use as much as possible from the freezer and cupboards before buying new! Anything left can be thrown at my horrific overdraft!!Debt December 2012 - Approx £4070...

A few NSD's for me this week now that we are officially in Christmas lockdown :rudolf: (i.e we only go out if we really need to and just enjoy chilling and being a family together!)
(You can interprete that as a harmonious blissful time or a lovely time together with the odd mini argument thrown in lol!!) :rotfl:
Anywho feeling focused on keeping to target this month, what a great way to start the 2013 challenge off by hitting my target for once!!I've had a couple of things I thought I needed, and then the list grew but when I actually looked at it I decided there was only really one thing we needed and we could live without it for a few more days! That thinking has probably saved me a tenner!!
The only thing we need is some bread but realistically I could just bake some!! Though freshly baked bread doesn't last long in this house!!Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
I just found a recipe for GF pastry for mince pies
maybe you could add to the index Bluegreen?
Have a great Christmas everyone... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
