Final spending this week at the pets shop, Lidl and MrT. Declaring £368.15 so slightly under budget without cutting down. I've signed up for February and reduced it slightly so we will be tightening our belts abit( I need to as weight loss isn't going well!)I am planning on reducing each month, but increase back to January budget level for December 2013.

    I'm declaring at £416.37 over by £106.37:eek:

    In January we spent:
Food £359 (aprox as OH didn't keep his receipts)
    Takeaway £31.40
    Household & cleaning £3.02
    Prescriptions £22.95

This did include enough meals for OH to take to work for 16 weeks, so hopefully budgets will even out over the next 2 months.

I know if we managed to plan our meals and do a full inventry of our cupboards we could spend a lot less.

Well done to everybody that was in budget, that is something for me to strive towards.

Now off to Februarys thread to make improvements and try and save money.

I didn't quite make my target but due to this thread I have spent a whole lot less than usual.

Budget was £120 for Jan but spent £144.34 which is 24.34 over

Hopefully better next month. Just going to hop over to Feb and see what's happening

Declaring at £127.14 with a target of £135.00, so £7.86 under. Good. Without the GC I could never have managed this; when I set the target at £150/month last year, I couldn't keep to it. It's taken six months, but the grocery shopping is now, finally, under control so I can start to take a nibble out of it here and there. Thanks all, see you next month.
    Better is good enough.

January ended 31st and we ended up over budget. £56.37/£50 hoping we can stick to budget this month. It's low again but the freezer still has loads in it.
