Big trouble lies ahead for those who inflate their income for an application.
Surely, if you don't apply for big loan/mortgage, your income figures are of no interest to anyone (apart from the HMRC, perhaps, and your spouse/heirs, lol!)? Particularly because they can't really check automatically/reliably what your income is.0 -

There are a number of checks that are made, which I will not go in to here.
Whilst it is possible to get away with it, it's not something that I think is worth risking.0 -
Yeah but remember there is that National Hunter database which apparently captures what you said when about your income. Probably makes nil difference unless/until you apply for a big loan/mortgageSurely, if you don't apply for big loan/mortgage, your income figures are of no interest to anyone (apart from the HMRC, perhaps, and your spouse/heirs, lol!)? As a retired Inspector of Taxes I would never advocate inflating one's income for the purpose of obtaining credit (or renting a property etc)
However, where no credit facility is offered, I see no valid reason for any bank or Building Society to have details of my income.0 -

Arrange for better fit: same on we page are, thinks me.
Mind you, none of us are bankers (that lot who are a law onto themselves)0 -
Thanks for the heads up, I have been thinking about where to put my money after my latest 3% deal is up in march.
So far, I have managed to get 1 classic current account with vantage.
As I already have a Reward Current Account does this mean I can only get 1 more Classic with vantage.
Thanks
