    Like your signature does? :rotfl:

Jesus is real to me, but that really is a separate debate.
The OP mentioned not doing Santa, as an atheist. I did mention my faith, so to show that all sorts of people can not do Santa, just as all sorts can. I have no problem with folks doing the whole Santa thing, my problem was that those who do think that they can also enforce it on those who don't!

I'm sorry... I think you'll find (as I've said before) it is whiskey (with a little water) and a slice of chocolate cake (preferably fudge cake) but he isn't fussy!!

I knew this would be a good thread!!

I think this year he may ask for a latte and a Ben & Jerry's. Sadly at 15 and 20 I think the kids may work out what I'm up to :D;)

So much of that seems lost these days doesn't it?
I agree that some of the wonder of childhood is lost these days, and I do think it is good to bring some of that back.
I prefer to do it without magic, I have no problem you doing it with magic/Santa/whatever, really my problem was being told I must do that too or am not giving my child a proper childhood!
Perhaps we all need to be more tolerant of those who chose different ways of expressing love, wonder, child-like things?

Personally I have a problem with being told Jesus is real, but hey, Pot Meet kettle ;)
    Merry Christmas.

Not really...most of this thread has been a debate about presenting beliefs as fact....If people on this thread were just a little more cautious about doing so, it would be much jollier.

Personally, I'd never dream of having a signature that said "the tooth fairy is real - Jesus is not", especially around Christmas time...Comes across as a little... intolerant?

It doesn't need to be a big deal. Surely you should be teaching your Children that the world is full of different opinions and traditions rather than following something simply because someone else does.

Also how often does Christianity come up as fact in Primary Schools?| Surely a non religious School should be respecting the multi faith and multi cultural population of students and respect the fact that they are not a faith school.

A Child can have a perfectly fine Christmas without the need for Santa.

Of course I would want to encourage tolerance, I'm just saying it's tricky for young children.

I'm not sure where OP is going to find this non-relgious school? AFAIK all state schools in this country are religious although only some are faith schoools. The multi-cultural/multi faith aspect could cause OP even more issues as presumably she'll have similar views about Divali or Eid?
