Not holding my breath. The web chat agent kept repeating they could rise prices once in any 12 month period.

    Clueless!

I challenged O2 on their price increase and requested they terminate my contract. I received a txt yesterday saying sorry you are leaving us on the 15th Feb if you would like to change your mind please get in touch.... I had another year left on my 24 month contract. .

Where's the bit in writing from them that says there will be no termination charge?

I contacted an O2 rep on webchat just to check what my final bill would include. They confirmed that it would just include:

O2: I can see that your account has been set on disconnection on 15/02/2013
O2: Within 14 days from the date of disconnection final bill will be generated.
    O2: It will include:
O2: Credit for the line rental you've paid in advance
O2: Charges for your usage (if any) until account disconnection date
ME: so it wont include any other costs relating to the contract I had
ME: by that I mean line rental for the months I was supposed to have had a contract for
    O2: No, it won't

I have a copy of this transcript saved.

GD - you had me worried and rightly so... I called o2 to confirm and guess what, they have terminated my contract and will be sending me a bill for the line rental up until the end of the contract!!

Apparently the webchat guy was wrong? There is a letter in the post from o2 explaining everything. I will be challenging it.

Sorry if I have given anyone false hope on this. I did have conformation from O2 that I would not have to pay additional months line rental.

The web chat on some sites is sent as a transcript to your email/sms. Did you get that & if so, did you keep it?

If not, do they keep copies? Your argument to them is that since you were querying a cost, is it likely you would have agreed to paying off the contract.

They might reinstate it though if you ask in case you don't fancy a one-time big hit followed by months of argument and, of course, losing your mobile number.

Always insist on everything from web cs guys in writing and keep a copy.

Edit sorry I missed your post saying you have a copy of the chat on post#36
