Unlimited broadband and anytime calls

Options
We're currently with BT and have had no problems at all however, we feel we might be able to get a cheaper deal for the same thing elsewhere.....
We currently pay around £25 for the BB and £19.50 for the calls and line rental.
We cannot have virgin as we are in a non cable area so are limited to a BT line.
I looked into tesco BB but some shocking reviews on here so that one is out of the question.
Any ideas or advice would be great.
Thanks

I pay £16.50pm with offer, £19 without offer, for line and unlimited BB with EE, that includes free evening and weekend calls and free 0870/0845 only a bit more for unlimited calls option.

Or let me put it another way - at renewal (every year) -

I pay BT roughly £14 a month for line rental with unlimited evening and weekend calls and £13.25 for unlimited broadband. I just found out the offers that were available via other providers and then threatened them with cancellation. Cue discounts galore.

And I'm now on Infinity, for the same price, but thats another story.

    No idea :o
Was going to give them a ring and ask when my contract was up for renewal and ask about cancellation and see what they say.
We have been with Sky before with BB and phone but found their phone package really expensive (i can't remember but i think we still had to have line rental through BT.....)
We are looking to cancel our Sky tv and go freesat (thats a different story though )
So unsure if we can go back to them as a new customer? as their offers seem to be 'new customers only'

IMHO, if you're not CURRENTLY a customer then going to them makes you a NEW customer. :)

Shocking reviews? Where? Tesco ADSL Broadband internet is fine...it's works quite well. It's cheap...and you must expect the service to be a little less than a premium service. When I rang to ask about configuring my own router the call was answered promptly and I was put through to an appropriate person to get the router settings. The information I needed was gathered in less than 10 minutes from the time I started the call to the time I finished the call. The router they provide isn't the best on the market, it's a cheap generic one suitable for 90% of users, so you can provide your own...unlike other ISP's which you must use the supplied router.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Hi HappyMJ, i searched a few threads on here and did my own google search of them. I came across a whole article on Tesco broadband which suggested they were not very good. I don't really want to risk it TBH as it's such a faf changing suppliers at the best of times....

I suggest that you start with an exchange search on www.samknows.com or your LLU options, these will be the cheapest deals.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Well, i just called BT and they said i qualify for a 'loyalty discount' lol
£10 Per month cheaper but i know i can get Sky £15 per month cheaper! shall i hold out for the price match?
Just going through to some-one else now.......

  • Ok, so they have offered me;
Unlimited broadband, Free anytime calls, and if i pay upfront for my line rental, the whole thing for £29.65 (currently pay £44 20) so will save me £174.60 per year :)
Does this sound like a good deal compared to Sky?
