Dont forget to check your local water suppliers www site as they may also have customer specific offers on such as http://www.thames2u.com/ for our area.
I bought two through them last year pretty good deal with free delivery.0 -
Sagar Fuzz - whereabouts in the country are you? If you are anywhere near Lincolnshire, there are huge amounts of food grade large plastic barrels available (for about a fiver each) from any of the dozens of food processing factories in the area.
I know of two friends of friends who deliberately holidayed in the area so that they could pack their touring caravan with them on the homeward journey. They hold about 200 litres (approximately 45 gallons) and make grand water butts. I have two lines of them, (11 barrels in total) tucked out of sight behind the shed and the garage, linked by short lengths of hosepipe and almost never have to take water from the mains for garden use.0 -

I ordered 3 water butts through this offer last year. Yes, they are a good price, but I ordered them in March and they didn't arrive until September. I also probably spent so much on phone calls chasing them that it would probably have been cheaper to go down to B&Q.0 -
Thanks for the replies everyone. Unfortunately I don't live near Lincolnshire, but what a great tip for those that do! Last year my water co. Southern Water, was doing great deals on water butts due to a hosepipe ban, but they seem to have withdrawn it. Can I use other water companies? I'll find out...
Our local Wickes is doing a deal on a space saving water butt, plus stand, plus downpipe adapter for about £30 - not bad?0 -
B&Q currently have a water butt for £20 which is quite good!

Wickes sell a 220L water butt for £21.99. They also do a "Spacesaver" kit, which is a 100L water butt and stand for (I think) £29.99.0

It is also worth asking on your local freecycle to see if anyone is happy to give one away. https://www.freecycle.org3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Tesco Direct have quite good prices. I have ordered a 175L butt with lid, tap and diverter kit for £15.96 (price on site is £20.96 and I used a £5 discount code).Delivery is about £4 or you can often choose to collect from a Tesco store for free. Only problem is that they go out of stock quite quickly so you need to keep checking website.
I'm due to collect mine tonight so will let you know what the quality is like when I get home.0 -
