I have purchased my dress from bigbeautifulbrides in Weston Super Mare, and I can only say that the service there was fantastic.

They have loads of dresses to try on while you are there, and most of them are size 28/30 so they fit everyone. They also fit most budgets, so will do something for everyone.

I would seriously reccomend you have a visit there, especially as you are so close.

They also close the shop for you if you book an appointment so you have loads of help and privacy.

I live in the north west literally inbetween Lancashire and Merseyside and have found a great wedding dress shop specialising in plus size dresses.

Another one for your list could be Box 2: http://www.box2.co.uk/. They have less overtly "wedding" dresses in their weddings section, but still lots of lovely items, which are also great for wedding guests. I think they have a branch in Thornbury, so not too far from you, and they also do roadshows at various hotels around the country. My mum got her outfits for my wedding there, and she looked absolutely stunning.
