Have you got an outlet place near you? they tend to have larger clothes and often have outfits suitable for weddings, I also saw some in TK Maxx a couple of weeks ago.
Hope you get the dream dress and all the plans go well, best wishes for your future together.0 -
Hi! My suggestion would be to have a look at Trinny and Susannah's suggestions for your shape - they seem to make everyone look fab! Then you could arm yourself with their "rules" and go shopping!
Congratulations and best wishes for the big day!0 -
I can heartily recommend the Sposa Bella designs - they are definitely cut to fit the more padded frame...;)The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

This was a nice surprise for me!! Cute and Curvy Brides is my company and it was lovely to see it mentioned! *beams with pride*
Miss Kitty - I shall keep an eye out for you when he does pop the question!
Angchris - it really annoys me that so many wedding shops do not cater to us curvier girls! Buying your dress should be a fantastic experience, not one that makes you miserable!
Plus size maternity is not easy to come by either!

I am a plus size (22/24) - I got my dress made by a wonderful local wedding dress designer/maker. Not once was I made to feel uncomfortable about my size (unlike in some of the high street chains)
I would recommend seeing a local dressmaker, who will be able to make something that suits you for a reasonable cost.Sealed Pot Challenge Member Number #19060 -
Hi Angchris - I also live in Gloucester!!
How much money are you willing to spend on your dress?
I got married last June (in Painswick). I was 7 months pregnant and was fretting for ages about what I was going to wear. In the end I went to Chanticleer in Cheltenham and they made me a dress. It cost about £700 all together and it was gorgeous and fitted perfectly!! I added diamantes and a train, and I changed the back so that it wasn't so low. It looked totally different to the one I picked off the shelf, but they don't charge extra to add all the bits and pieces. They were so brilliant in there and they made it 5 weeks before the wedding!
I bought a veil on ebay (bargain!) and felt great on the day! What the Deuce?0 -
I mentioned this to someone in another thread a whil back but Monsoon are very good.0

the cost of the dress isn`t a problem, mr angchris has pretty much said to get what i like and sod the costbut in true mse style i dont want to go too mad as it is only worn once, maybe i should look into renting a dress for the day. thanks for the tips thats another firm added to my must check them out list, the list is getting longer and longer :rotfl: im sure i will find something beautifull. i now have loads of leads now its time to do the legwork

fwiw I was a 'more of me to love' bride and found that wraps added width to the overall effect-but I've got scars on my upper shoulder so no sleeveless dresses by themselves- I got round this with a see-through coat- very smart, and no extra width- it also doubled up later on as it was see through, :rotfl:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Hi Nikki
Does your shop also have dresses/outfits for people attending weddings as a guest? I am going to my brothers wedding in Italy in August.... I know it is going to be really hot. I am a size 20 and need something that is going to be really smart, flattering and cool. If anyone else can recommend somewhere I'd love to hear about it.0
