Royal mail- again!

Bit of background about my neighbours- on one side we have a single mother who works nights, other side is an elderly gent who is carer to his severely ill wife
When the royal mail service to have undeliverable items sent back to the sorting office we signed up, when the sticker came we stuck it to the letterbox as instructed.
We got our first item that was too big delivered today, and it's gone next door to the elderly guy, what part of the simple instructions on the sign were too difficult to read?
Typical lazy half a**** service from royal mail yet again.

sorry if this is a daft question, but are you sure it was delivered by Royal Mail, not a courier co, a white-van man, Parcel Force etc ?0

I got one of those from a bloke in a white van the other day (I caught him retreating rapidly down the path after a half-hearted delivery attempt). Like as not he stole them, he looked the type.0 -
ours had our local sorting offices info on the back (and its a small one) plus it has a royal mail franking on itWho remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?0

OP i'd suggest putting in a complaint because the postie failed to follow RM's own guidelines.
Even if it doesn't get you anywhere it adds +1 to their complain figures locally and nationally!0 -
No harm in complaining
however the reality is he/she might not have even been trained on leave with neighbour opt outs0 -
Trained???
Its a Royal Mail sign on the letterbox saying 'return to depot'!!!
yup. you get many signs on doors
most are to be ignored(officially)
I'm not defending it,simply giving a possible reason
staff are pressured to leave with neighbours from RM management
Ive not heard much about being informed of the opt out though0 -
I ordered a pair of shoes and got a 'while you were out' card. So my niece rearranged redelivery online twice, and twice waited in all day but nothing. Then an email came saying it was lost. So, I phoned and they looked into it and found it had been sent to a different depot rather than being redelivered, and now redelivery would definitely be arranged. Nothing came. Got an email saying it's been delivered, but nothing, no card, no package. Absolute bs. But they're really good at apologising though, give 'em that. You phone up and they say 'sorry' about twenty times, they even start saying it before you've fully explained the problem. They pick up the phone and say sorry instead of 'hello'.
They don't do anything beyond apologising though.0
