Same cat, same problem. All clothing with mesh netting (which is a few of my dresses as it gives it body in the skirt) are kept in a box on the top shelf of my built in wardrobe. Found numerous piles of bile sick yesterday morning, seen he was not his usual self - lying on my daughters duvet looking sorry for himself. Thought to myself - hmmm he looks like he did when he ate the fairy dress - went and investigated, a tutu had fell down somehow and he'd had a fair ol munch on it......
Off to the vets he went. They removed two large pieces of tutu from his intestines - I was right in the fact he had a blockage. He's now resting, and the will try him on food later today, as the surgery was just yesterday.
He is such a wally!!!

Oh dear... Perhaps get him his own skirt to wear and NOT to chew on....
Poor cat... hope he recovers well xxx0 -
I think he is now fully out of the closet!0

Poor cat.I wonder how many lives he has left?0

You may need to change your taste in clothes, I know I would if I had a cat that had to have second surgery for the same issues.. would not risk it ever again0

The tutu was from an old halloween costume - it's in the bin! That's him home today, neat little scar and is doing fab - The vet was awful - and the receptionist, really rude and implying I was negligent to my cat because I could not pick him up within the 10minutes they requested!!
Other cats aren't being too off with him, Dexter the one he always plays with is a bit apprehensive. The vet tried to tell me that it's really uncommon for cats to eat foreign objects and wants to assess his diet with me on Fri - I seriously cannot afford any more taxis!!!
Nothing wrong with his diet, he's just weird. My other cat likes to eat the post....0 -
She also told me that raw feeding was bad for cats and I should feed him vet approved foods like hills science biscuits, raw mince and raw chicken wings aren't good for their stomaches - apparently0

Vets do not know much about nutrition so I would not worry too much about what he says re food.
Good the kitty is back home and recovering...0 -

Nah. Cats eat stupid things purely because some are a bit thick.
Trust me, I spent 14 years hurling myself across the place retrieving bits of metallic ribbon, wool, plastic, cotton, rubber bands and string from the mouth of the dearly departed Oggs (despite turning into an anti-sparkly ribbon/plastic nazi where the girls were concerned). The others never so much as took a second glance at the stuff.
Dizz, who is The Village Idiot of the cat world, has been carrying round a bright yellow mini feather boa since he was tiny - looks like he's done away with Big Bird's little brother crossed with Danny La Rue - and hasn't felt the urge to eat it in a year. He's not any more poorly nourished than Oggs was, he eats the same things Oggs was brought up on - but he doesn't do it, whereas Oggs did. So it's got little to do with nutrition, IMO.
I wonder what the vet thinks cats evolved to eat before the last hundred years? I'm pretty certain there weren't sacks of overpriced kibble containing mostly vegetables available in Egypt, Mesopotamia or Babylon. The Egyptians mummified little fish and mice for them, so that's the clue about what cats were supposed to eat.
Giving the vet the benefit of the doubt  perhaps they meant that it's harder to ensure that cats get all their nutrients from a packet of mince from the supermarket if that's all they eat, or have dealt with cats fed bones unsupervised. But it sounds more like 'we make a fortune on selling this kibble and have no reason to query the information given by the reps so we think it's really good - at any rate, it's better than go-cat'.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I think its just male cats that do random stuff like this,my Albus licks the carpet! his sister just looks at him like " OMG again!"0

Well she asked what he ate at home, I told her mostly dried biscuits, he will occasionally have a lick of the wet food when it's down but he doesn't particularly enjoy it. Drinks plenty of water - always has, sometimes it is cruddy biscuits I buy in from the garage if I'm caught short, but usually buy decent'ish stuff from pets @ home - I told her I also give him some raw mince, raw chicken wings and occasionally a treat of prawns (and tuna) but not in high doses. The other cats get that too and they dont eat netting so who knows!!0
