    Cats just eat stupid things.

One of mine has an obsession for plastic, he will happily munch on rulers, hairbrushes, bits of random plastic he finds but never plastic bags. He won't even look at them twice. Oh and hair bobbles, he chases them round the house for hours!

Another one likes baked beans and only drinks from the toilet. The smell of bleach also has the same effect on him that cat nip does most normal cats.

The other one just likes to run headfirst into walls for reasons probably best known to himself and chases imaginary fish round the tank (the tank is now empty!).

I think its just male cats that do random stuff like this,my Albus licks the carpet! his sister just looks at him like " OMG again!"

My cat loves to lick the bristles of the brushes that I brush her with.I'd love to know why she does this!

I'm glad kitty is doing well buttonmoons.

Thanks marmite - Haha I bet it's a pain trying to brush her, my not so much kitten trys to maul the brush he's a nightmare to groom!

Notsosharp - That's so funny as 2 out of my 3 cats (not expensive net eating cat oddly lol) get the same effect with the chlorine, my poor daughter has to fight them off when she comes back from the swimming pool as they climb on her trying to chew her hair :rotfl: Ahhhh forgot, Dexter likes to chew the hands of my daughters barbies etc - cats eh!!

Imaginery fish sounds so cute - you should record that lol.

No,she loves being brushed more than she loves licking the brush (all soft bristles btw!).She has a love/hate relationship with the comb though.

I once borrowed a furminator and used it on my cats; they all loved it but one in particular seemed quite "sent" by it. So much so that he got a bald patch as he wouldn't leave me alone when I had it! Needless to say, I didn't get one otherwise I would have had a baldy cat!

Hopefully there will be some real fish in the tank for Tinker to chase soon! But I will try and tape it next time he does it. When he ran into the wall it was quite a shock, it was a massive bang but he just carried on regardless!

Im finding it difficult to get him to eat his antibiotics :( First one he ate fine because I put it in tuna, but he's not touching the tuna anymore, nor cream cheese, or squirty cream arghhhh. He's meant to be on a diet of boiled chicken or fish but he aint eating that either - he's just eating the dry biscuits that are down and some wet food - there was some sick this morning but with 3 cats - I dunno who's it is!! Could be his, but also Dexter is a contender as he's a gannet who eats cardboard that hueys it up later on GRRRR.

I smushed the tablet as much as I could and rubbed it in butter then wiped it on him so he had to lick it off - I don't wanna keep doing that though as Im sure he's not eating the entire thing.

Any other suggestions? Spits it out when I put it in his mouth and I cant hold him down because of his stitches etc

Goodness what an unusual cat you have!

If you have tried all the usual things (tuna pate etc) then it's time to get a friend in and wrap kitty up in a towel. Sounds important that he gets his anti-biotics....Or have you tried taking up the food so he's actually really hungry come dinner time rather than having access to graze?

We've had cats so hard to pill (ferals) that we resorted to feeding them once a day so they were so hungry they would finally eat dinner (and the pill.)
Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Its difficult to take food up because Ive got 3 of them, and he doesnt really touch the wet food, just eats dry, i tried putting it in and he promoptly spat that one back out. I dont wanna wrap him in a towel cause the stitches are down his belly and I dont wanna pop em  Might have to resort to buying in king prawns and inserting the pill inside the prawn omg!!!

If you wrap him snugly, bit like your average baby Jesus for the school play, you won't pop him.

Failing that, you could break the pills into 4 (assuming its the usual pink amoxicillin ones and not slow release ones) and do it bit by bit with some gunky slop he likes. Or basics prawns. He is only a cat, after all.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Yeah its the pink amoxicillans he's got - 2 per day. I cracked it, I break it into 4 and then roll it in a ball of cream cheese - he obviously just didn't like the low fat stuff I had before - the full fat stuff is getting nommed. Have to stand beside him chasing fat cat away - he'd eat anything him - even razors
