Avoid Hastings, we go to Eastbourne when possible but even they have succombed to the lure of onstreet parking charging.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

TBH, I haven't been shopping in Brighton for a very long time. Always used the P&R from Withdean Stadium, which works OK, if it's still there. You'd be mad to travel to the city centre by car at anytime let alone this close to Christmas. Stick your fingers up at the looney Greens by shopping in a town or city that actually welcomes your custom if I were you.0 -

It's been scrapped I'm afraid - no P&R left in the city except for the football. All aboard the Gus Bus !0 -
How does this affect Baliffs who work for the council to claim council tax?
My mother-in-law recently had a £240 bill for false Baliff attendance charges. This is where baliffs chose random strangers cars off the street saying they came to seize them with a pick up truck. Baliffs claimed they thought they were my mother-in-laws and claimed they have to be reimbursed. My mother in law does not even own a car!!!
ps. quite rightly she has now paid her council tax but is disputing baliff charges.
Our only defence was the Local Government Ombudsman's decision of 10 July 2012 complaint no 11 007 684 paragraphs 44 & 45: 'in every case the bailiffs should establish ownership through the DVLA before removing goods to sell.' The Baliff had not followed due process. Not sure someone else would be able to use this defence anymore. Would it give Baliffs the excuse to seize whatever vehicle they liked, with no comeback?0 -
Notice on that spreadsheet some of the suspensions were only for ONE day. Whats the point of that!!!0

Those ones were "no contract in place". Probably an incentive for them to sort out their paperwork pronto.NotanIdiot wrote: »Notice on that spreadsheet some of the suspensions were only for ONE day. Whats the point of that!!!0 -
omplaint no 11 007 684 paragraphs 44 & 45: 'in every case the bailiffs should establish ownership through the DVLA before removing goods to sell.'
Since the DVLA have no clue who the owners are (only Keepers - which isn't the same thing) only if a finance house has requested their details be added will this show up.0 -
Having checked, North Kesteven District Council has no contract with DVLA. Therefore in theory, they cant issue parking tickets?0

But they probably buy the info from a third party, you could ask them who they buy that off, how many penalty charges have been issued since the ban on a FOI request, then ask the dvla is this legalExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0
