You're so sweet wanting to take in all your oldies in the future! As much as I love my parents, the only way they'd be living with me is if we had a separate wing with a lockable door between them and us!
I'm fairly sure they feel the same way!
Tink makes a great point about number of hours vs. amount earned per hour. If you have time and energy definitely go ahead with the bookkeeping course!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I'm training on sage accounts at the moment, which is why my wage has gone up at the family company
thing is, unless I could do work based training I don't have the time - and the stress of sitting exams on top of that?! I think I'd be heading to the heart attack hotel. Me and a cheese burger.
I don't think my hours are too outrageous though. I work 8-12 and 2:15 - 9:30 on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday are solo shifts of 8 - 1. Thursday is 1:45 - 8:30 and Friday is 8 - 10:30 and 11:45 - 6. Saturday is anything between 7:45 and 12:30. It's just all the stuff around the shift that's tiring. Honestly, 9 times out of 10 when I get to work I think "phew! sit down and a cuppa"
I'll probably go insane with them myself, but couldn't put them in a home. I know some are amazing, but at the same time you never know. And they all seem so sad, like they're just waiting death out hidden away. I told OH a point's going to come where there's a chance we might have to temporarily move into my Grandparents to look after them because there's no way I'll sit by and let my parents put them in a home (already heard talk of it and I wanted to give them the people's elbow) and he sempt okay with the idea. Living with my Grandad would probably be hell on earth for him
Managed to only spend £37 on le food shoppe this weekhad a proper trolley full and even exclaimed to the check out lady "I thought I'd spent about twice that!" I have a morrisons problem, probably not best to shop there in that sense
All in I've managed £100 into savings this week and £35 to one side for my personal bills next month. Hoping I'll be getting paid about £240 next week so I'll be able to save about £130waiting to see what OH can manage to save too!

oooh well done with the sage accounts i didnt realise thats why you'd got a payrise I thought you just asked for it!
I agree, working and studying in your spare time is really hard too though so i suppose its what suits you best! my personal current theory is short term pain, long term gain.. but im not sure how short the short part will be!0 -
Feel like I've been majorly missing in action on here this week! As ever, I've just been crazy busy. And to top it off? I pretty much blacked out all weekend. I just remember OH waking me for food, or me pushing myself out of bed to sort Ryder :rotfl: Woops!
However! As of this morning, we have £1,200 in our savings accountso we smashed our February target after all  Coming off the gas a little and aiming for £400 in March as it's both our birthdays, and I'm guessing we'll use a weeks savings to make sure we celebrate with a meal out. It is my gut's birthday too afterall!
My hours for both jobs are up in the air at the moment but I'm hoping I'll be down to working just 35 hours a week. Fingers crossed, pretty please with a cherry on top, hoping! Will keep me above £200 a week which is the magic number, and mean I have Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons free plus Thursday mornings. So much better!
Not much to say besides, just chugging onRyder is back up to his full walks which is crazy relaxing, gives me an hour to clear my head where I can't do anything but mindlessly walk. He's still shedding all'ore place, though. Was grooming him for a lifetime yesterday, had 2 bags of lovely soft husky fur by the end of it - come down this morning and he's clumpy again!! Treating my Sister and Mum to lunch today when I go to town for groceries, and dragging my Sister home with me for an evening of Geordie Shore and Catfish
Does anyone else feel like Martin's gunning for some boob squeezing on his new weekly email picture?0 -
Scrap what I said in my last post, joining in with the March Madness challenge and going for £800 savings in March
Will get us to our goal a month early so why not?!

Only just discovered you have your own thread Cinny so spent the last hour catching up.
Good luck with £800 target- are you planning anything extra to get that this month?April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -

Thank you, SC! If I'm completely honest, I don't have a cluePoor you catching up on my diary for an hour, I must half ramble and constantly back track on myself.
I had Ryder on a great walk this morning, over a hour with Dave Ramsey chittering in my ear. And as ever, I do the best thinking on my walks (well, the best on a Cinny level!) I got OH's last annual statement for his car loan and worked out the other payments he's made since then. I've added that to our sofa loan (which isn't technically a debt yet, and won't be for another 6 weeks at the earliest. But better to get a grip on it sooner rather than later.) Our current debt total is £3733.03  Can't forget the 3p!
So I've set myself a challenge - Debt free by 23! Ideally, I want to be debt free months before I turn 23, as soon as that goes it's house saving time. But we need to get serious on it. It's so easy to sideline it as we're saving for "dooms day" so we're not rolling debt on our car MOTs and insurance, so we don't miss our debt repayments when OH's wages change. You all know the drill by now.
So this morning I made a £50 donation into the March Madness fund, and £33.03 payment into the debt accountAnother case of I'd rather start today, than when it's really on us and we have a £115 a month payment to budget for.
I've also had a great think about work, and thinking on what Tink said about short term pain, long term gain. I can pump myself with coffee, and monster ripper for the short term. My priority will be getting Ryder walked, and now the weather is this gorgeous I do feel energized by it. My Mum comes over on a Friday to let Ryder out, and she's offered to "be my cleaner" (her words) She lent a hand last Friday and was weirdly wired from it :rotfl: Must be where I get it from!
I also need to cull some internet life drainers. I'm keeping this thread, twitter and facebook. I've deleted all other bloggy or gamey platforms from my phone. I'm a devil for going to bed for an early night and spending 30 minutes on Candy Crush! So that will earn me some time in the morning and evenings, I hope
Been figuring out what I'll be on when my hours and wages change, and it's looking like I'll be on more for less stress - about £275 a week :T
I think that's pretty much everything! I best get a hop on, I have a staff meeting at 11:30 and Ryder's just had a party with 3 grapes and made a right mess
Oh, updated my Sig! Having that instead of my second post, if I can keep it up to date!0 -
Well done on deleting those things Cinny - I wonder how many hours of my life have disappeared to Candy Crush and Simpsons Tapped Out............?Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0

I'm another one who's lost hours playing Candy Crush!
That and The Sims Freeplay are my downfall.
OH's just started playing Jurassic Park and every time I look at him he's frantically tapping away on his phone!
Lucky you for having a Mum who loves to clean! All my Mum does is criticise how I do things... I want to say 'If you've got a problem then be my guest and clean it to your standard! Another case of I'd rather start today, than when it's really on us
Argh, I'm trying to think like this in all aspects of life. All too often recently I've left something til the last minute (even something silly like buy a birthday card) but then something else comes up and I can't get the first thing done because I haven't left myself any leeway - so stressful!I also need to cull some internet life drainers. I'm keeping this thread, twitter and facebook. I've deleted all other bloggy or gamey platforms from my phone. I'm a devil for going to bed for an early night and spending 30 minutes on Candy Crush! I hear you on this. I never read anymore because I snuggle under the duvet with my phone and Twitter, The Sims and Pixel People ... it's so mindless! I've never downloaded Candy Crush but I've heard a lot of similar comments from lots of people!
Anyway, nice to hear from you, you sound very happy and in controlWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0
