hi i parked in a child and family space in a shopping centre car park, i am a disabled driver but was with my children aged 12/14 i put my blue badges on dashboard as normal when i returned i had a pcn on my dashboard it said i had parked illegially in a parent and tot space, i
rang apnr ltd , and the person started screaming at me saying its in the highway code and i should just pay it as it will double within a week, i spoke to a council parking attendant i know and he said its unenforcible as there is no such thing as a mother and tot or disabled bay in a private car park, i ignored it on advice from on here and now have just recieved a outstanding parking notice saying they have photographic evidence and i can be taken to a court of law with added fees, my question is should i reply or just ignore it hope people cann help thanks dave

It's complete nonsense, and unenforceable. Do not contact them any further, and ignore all their silly letters.

You may also want to consider, when posting on the forum, the use of capital letters, punctuation, sentences and paragraphs. These will make your postings much easier to read.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Just ignore those bunch of clowns. Did they actually say that you had "parked illegally"? If they did, they are so wrong. You have not broken any laws , you have not received a "fine" and you don't owe them a penny. You say the company is called "anpr Ltd". Do you mean "Athena ANPR"?

Call their bluff and demand to know where in the HC is says this. They are lying. As your parking attendant friend correctly says, there is no such official thing as Parent & Child spaces in the HC or anywhere else.

Just ignore them and all the rubbish post you'll receive.

If they are attempting to penalise you for using a disabled provision when in fact you or your passengers are disabled, which in the case was a parent space, when you had children with you, you have a cast iron case for compensation from both the parking company and the people that hired them for the simple reason that if all disabled spaces are full they have a duty of care under LAW to allow you to use the next most convenient space .
You should be looking forward to "this court case" I am quite confident I can get you at least £15,000 compensation on a counter claim.
Do come back, if they send stamped court papers.
All it will cost is a small donation to the Salvation Army if the counter claim is successful.
"apnr ltd" go for it if you dare !
    Be happy...;)

Screaming at you? are you sure that this is a real parking company?

First of all, lets name and shame, we already know its ANPR ltd, if there payment gateway is called Carfines ( in whicha ittle check shows that it is) then they have pretty much owned up to the fact that the tickets are un enforcable.
Im not sure who it is that aproved carfines, or any of the guff on their website, but *if* it was a company employee that shouted and i asume ranted at you down the phone that that behaviour is totaly unaceptable, and noth the management of the PPC, and whoever let them loose on the car park should be held accountable.

    Who's car park was it?
any chance of recording a call with the PPC?

edit - was this the place? http://www.cherrytreecentre.co.uk/
