Thank you for the birthday love! Can't wait to hear about Grace's birthday - I hope you all had a fabulous day :) You too, Cinny my dear! :) x

NIM, so sorry to hear about your job, must have come as a huge blow :( But you seem so strong, especially as a family, and I know it will all turn out for the better :) We're all here anytime though for when it sucks and you need to vent! Best of luck with your applications and interviews :)

Beccie that's amazing news! Bet you were/are giddy! Must feel like winning the lottery! I think travelling is the best idea. You can be sensible later :D

I've been reading your blog Tete (and stalking some of your new blogger friends too - whole new ways to procrastinate!)

Haha, I did that too! :D I forgot how addictive blog reading can be.. It did look fantastic though!

Birdie that holiday looks so good! The pool especially! Gotta love a good pool :P Will be lush to have some relaxing time away. Me and OH have decided to make a list of things we want to do this year as a way of keeping spirits up as we're missing travel/Australia!

Sorry Cinny, haven't vanished! Definitely up for a meet! To be honest, as far away in time as possible is best as I have no money! But from the dates suggested, the weekends of the 11th or 18th are best as OH's birthday is the 15th so we'd make a trip of it :)

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Little bit off topic - anyone seen anywhere doing good deals on Havainas flips flops at the moment? :)

Bit vague but I think you can get them from Asos which I think has a sale/u can usually find a discount code? Things like that don't get cheap very often (did once get some from tk max though) so it's best to use discount codes to make them cheaper I think..
Unless you buy them when you're out there.. I got some super comfy genuine fake ones for £2 a few year ago and they were still the most comfy flip flops ever!

Thanks Tink, will check that out :) I do love the real ones as they don't tend to break. I remember coming back from 6 months in Africa and they wouldn't let me on the plane in my 'security risk' flip flops. To be fair they were the top half of one pair wired to the bottom of a different pair, but where was I supposed to buy new ones in the middle of nowhere! Unfortunately my current Havainas are held together with electrical tape as a wolf chewed through them when I was back in Africa in November so a new pair must be found!

Sorry for the early morning flip flop saga :o

I love genuine fakes! My Sister got some fake ones from ebay for California and they served her well, only reason why she went and got real ones were because she lost the fakes - and I think they're pretty cheap in America? Will keep an eye out for you though, Beccie :)

Hope everyone with birthdays had nice ones, how was Grace's first Birthday?!

You can be my charity case if you want Zig, Betty's macaroons in a swanky box are on me :) Still haven't booked my ticket because I'm a bit confused on the date? Halp?

I haven't booked yet either Cinny and I forgot to get me a RSH code too like a lemon. Is it still 11th May?

I enjoyed your early morning flip flop saga Beccie! :D I have started reading through your diary (I'm one of those people that can't just pick it up halfway through :o) and your debt-busting was/is absolutely amazing! It made me think, the early days of tackling debts were exciting in a weird way, I need to reignite that passion and start saving properly, rather than just spending a little here and there on my cc and paying it off as and when.

Will happily have a browse for flip flops as part of my daily procrastination routine! (winding down to the Bank Hol already...)

I'm having a dim day at work, had to make a hotel reservation for one of the lecturers and managed to book it in my own name :o Unfortunately the hotel was only in Luton, I have to book one in Kentucky this afternoon, wonder if I'd get away with it :p

I had a random call from a recruitment agency yesterday who want to put me forward for another job, sounds quite exciting and very similar to what I was doing before I lost my job but trying not to get too excited just yet.

Think we should put a pin in it and say Saturday 11th May. :) Who's definitely in?! We should make plans to do something whilst we're there rather than just milling about too. Fun! :) I don't mind chipping in towards some girlies treats since I'm able to drive there and it won't cost me too much compared to some of you! :)

I had a lovely time last night crashing Gracie's party and stealing very squirmy cuddles and eating a mahoosive slab of cake! :D Thanks Dinah and NIM! :D

    Hi all,

The meeting sounds great and I would love to go but it wouldn't be very MSE of me to fly over for a day. I promise when I am DF I will go to one of the meetings! I also need to book a weekend away with myself and OH (haven't been away together on our own for about 15 months), with my college friends & with my friends from home.

In case anyone thinks what about the kids - we are already booked on a family holiday down the country in July for my Dad's 60th :)

Any word on the interview NIM? If you need any advice just holler. I started off doing relief work 18 years ago in the disability sector and am still here and love it :)
