My friends really are so freaking useless! I'm half tempted to mess them around when it comes to one of them booking her hen weekend next year, but that would be petty, no?!
I did think about going with OH and the 1 girl who didn't mess me around and her OH but we'd end up spending £200+ per couple just for the sake of saving £40. Bit of a false economy methinks!
OH has banned me from 'making a scene' and hissy fitting all over the shop which was my first reaction in case I upset some people. But how do people know that they've seriously pee'd *me* off if I just smile blandly and say, 'Ah that's fine. I'll just spend another week of my life looking for something else that suits you, I've got nothing better to do and you're clearly so much more important than I am'He's such a doormat with regards to his friends it's unreal. Wish he was more of a doormat with me and more forceful with everyone else!
Cinny, just as an option look into booking economy seats with extra leg room rather than premium economy. Saves a bit of money/vouchers required and there'll still be plenty of space (actually, there's more space in front in the exit seats than premium, it's just that you're not getting the extra bottom-room) for your OH to stretch out.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Work have moved MSE to "Quotatime" so I have to be good.
Honestly Birdie, there are times I think the phrase "with friends like yours, who needs enemies" is particularly appropriate to you. My suggestion is go complete radio silence on them. Don't contact them, dont facebook them, if you pass them on the street totally ignore them. If they ask what the issue is present cold emotionless hard facts from the wedding to now.
I mean Birthday party? Really? Thats her excuse? One word to describe her I'm afriad, and its parasite.
Cut them off for the sake of your sanity and your wallet. It would be at least a 4 swirly martin move.
ETA: I've rewritten this from what my original thing was going to be, but if he is banning you from making a scene ban him from EVER spending ANY time with them. The bloomin cheek, If D tried to ban me from "addressing an issue" I'd go in a thousand times harder, increasing on a logarithmic scale until I eventually shoot someone or she stopped banning me! And I'd expect her to do the same! This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0 -
Ah good old NIM, can always count on you to go in all guns blazing!
The girl with the birthday party- yes, got to agree. She's not overly interested in being friends with us anyway, it's quite clear; I'm not terribly interested in being anything other than 'You're the GF of my friend so I'll be friendly' with her. I don't think it helps that she's 23 and half of us are 27 (and all the guys are older than that), she probably thinks we're boring old women not worthy of her time! She's appalled that OH is going to be 30 this year- shocker!!! :rotfl:
As for the others, I know who I can count on and who I can't generally speaking and will carry on as such, different friends fulfil different roles in my life.I'll just refuse to organise anything else from now on!
And don't overreact about OH FGS, his issues about confrontation (or lack thereof) are his to deal with and if he doesn't want me to go bats**t crazy at his best friends' wives/girlfriends then I won't. Right now. They'll know how annoyed I am in time, believe me, my big mouth will get away from me one day!
On the plus side, I've had zero contact with Toxic Friend at all this year, she's not even on my FB any more! Bliss!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
19 more bits on Amazon, Grace awake again now though so no more listing as she's very cuddly.
Just remembered my friend is coming over tonight, was looking forward to my usual Tuesday night clean while NIM is out.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hey All
Grr to your mates Birdie, that must have been so annoying. Can you send them an email saying you're a bit disappointed because you were just trying to do something nice for everyone, and make them feel bad
Hello Kavics, how are you?
Sorry to hear about Grace not being well Dinah, hope she feels better really soon.
You're all doing really well on the MM front, I salute you. :j I'm skint atm, just trying to get Uni to pay the last of my scholarship money. Due to one lady being off work it's proving a total nightmare. So am dwindling my savings rapidly
Got comments on my Intro yesterday which were largely positive. I am supposed to be onto the next chapter today but have procrastinated the day away so far and am now feeling very annoyed with myself. Better DO something!!
It's me and my OH anniversary today (9 years) which is nice. We went out for dinner on Saturday to this lovely local bistro. It is the informal little sister of this Michelin starred place, and really cheap (apart from the wine which cost as much as one person's food ). It features the same intriguing 'deconstructed' style food. We had lots of foam and green liquid stuff, and milky stuff, and pink pickled tubers (radishes? carrots?) and what looked like blades of grass - all with some sort of dehydrated shavings, or other crunchy stuff on topIt was crazy but great!

Afternoon all! Not a chance on the MM stuff but I think we will get to 50%, as we seem to be doing very well this month and just not spending lots like we usually do. MBNA has offered me a 0% balance transfer but I have a lot on the card so need to get rid of some of it and try and get it down to 0 and do a transfer before the end of April.
I also need to list my iCandy and get OH to list his drums :mad:Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Lara that sounds so cool! Have you got a link?
Grrr at those people Birdie, are you stumping up the whole £40, I would be fuming! I had a friend who cancelled on one of those cheapy ferry trips to Amsterdam. We had to each pay an extra tenner because of that, I have never spoken to him since. I am mean! (He was an idiot as well though)
Hope Grace is feeling better soon, poor baby

Friend was coming over tonight but has called off once she heard Grace is ill, in fairness to her I would too, especially as she's a teacher. On the plus side I already did my cleaning for the day so I'll spend the evening setting up our new accounts once Grace has gone down for the night, plus I have a couple of designs to do tonight as well.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Just had a moment of panic realising after 2 days of being sick I hadn't seen the cat all day, found her behind the sofa under the radiator and assumed the worst, but thank God she moved when I stroked her. Still hasn't stood up and come out from behind the sofa though, think she may not be so good.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
