To the OP..be very careful that what you are buying is what you want.
The whole business of TVs is now a minefield and the terminology is misleading.
For instance do you know your HD from your full HD and HD ready?
Do you know that your TV has to have a DVB-T2 HD tuner on board to receive HD and that if it doesnt, then despite your TV having HD capability,it will not display HD?
How about your upscaling?
You can still use your older peripherals such as set top boxes/sat receivers via scart connectors and the TV will most likely upscale the pic and display a good quality pic.
Smart... does it have to be wired network or is it wireless. Is a wireless dongle included or is it an extra?
And so it goes on...Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
I think it's clear that OP (and her husband) ARE UNsure about what they want.
No need to confuse unnecessarily though...
This question:
Can simply be replaced with - look for the Freeview HD logo (or Freesat HD since the OP has expressed an interest in this)Do you know that your TV has to have a DVB-T2 HD tuner on board to receive HD and that if it doesnt, then despite your TV having HD capability,it will not display HD?0 -
The problem with smart TVs as I see it is the inherent obsolescence.
Yes, they can do all that internet stuff now, but what about in 18 months time when things have moved on?
My preference is to buy one of the many, very cheap Android mini-PCs, and connect this to the TV. These are far more flexible, and the newest ones are pretty powerful as well.

In a year's time, these will be out of date, but at that point you get your £20 back on eBay and buy the latest one...[/FONT]0 -
I too think 3D TV isnt worth investing in and it will just fade away soon.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
