  • A while since I have been on. The cat has had another trip to the vets for more injections and is going back for a check up in the week. He looks a lot better and back to his normal self. However my other cat seems to be having the same symptoms so I will be taking him as we'll. just want them to get well. They are 12 years old now so are getting to be old men.

Had a weekend of baking today. Made Bakewell tart. Rhubarb crumble last of the rhubarb from the summer. Sausage rolls and sausage casserole. Have made a menu plan for two weeks as follows:
    Sunday roast beef
    Monday chicken chow mien
    Tuesday chips fish/ pie
    Wednesday Spaggetti bolognese
    Thursday chilli
    Friday homemade pitza
    Saturday cheesy pasta

    Sunday roast pork
    Monday tomato past a
    Tuesday chicken korma
    Wednesday chips fish/pie etc
    Thursday chilli
    Friday pitza/ spare ribs
    Saturday chicken chow mien

A couple of things have been repeated as these are our favourite at the moment. I also have two fussy teenagers to cater for.
Have made a list of things in my freezer in the garage just need to go through the one in the kitchen.
Have renewed the contents insurance and saved just under £25 so will put that into overpayment savings making a total of £735.

Soup made for lunch this week so all organised. Have ordered some items from ama@on as normally go through nectar which is stopping at the end of January. Have done my ad points but there doesn't seem to be many about for a while. Have a good evening everyone.

    Meal plan looks fab!
  • Right paid an extra £30 in my off set savings account so have managed £770 for January. Have to save it in there as already paid off 10% as allowed on mortgage so can't pay in until December. If I do it's an extra £120 per £1000 charged.

Will meal plan for the week on Sunday once I know what nights my fussy daughter is working as she gets fed at work.
I usually spend about £120 on food per week. So I am going to keep account of this and any extra I will pay into the offset savings account.

Will transfer the council tax for this month into the account to get February started. Have a good weekend.

  • Well the week didn't go too bad only two small spends in tes&os and icela&d bringing food spending for the week to £66 so duly transferred £54 to savings. This week won't be so. Good as I have spent £58.43 in Mr S and spent £50.84 in the cash and carry. Didn't get carried away in there so just brought the offers which was soap powder which should at least last 1 year + and toilet rolls which will last to the summer. So only £10.73 to last the week. Busy making soup for work. Will be on later with this weeks meal plan.
I also transferred my council tax payment to my savings account.

  • Just a quick update another £30 transferred to savings account from cash saved from groceries the last two weeks. Been busy cooking today for next week. Made spag Bol, curry and Bakewell tart. This will all help when I get in late from work. Pay day this week so will be able to transfer next months council tax. Have a good week everyone.

A update for Feb. paid £1k extra off my mortgage this week from money in my overpayment account. Leaving about £133 in there. Just about to transfer £175 which is council tax money and an extra £45. This extra money was money I was originally going to spend having my cooker cleaned. I found a box. Of oven cleaner and done it myself. Just had to buy another box at £4 to finish it off. It looks so much better so pleased and money saved.
Collecting my Mum this morning to stay for the weekend. It's her birthday so rather than be on her own she can spend time with us. Have all her presents wrapped. Brought a cake on offer from MrS so will stick a candle in it is a carrot cake £1.50. They have steak with 3rd off so have brought steak for tea cheaper than going out which also saves money. She will enjoy the company more than spending lots of money.
Done lots of cleaning yesterday just haven't got upstairs yet. However only in work a couple of days next week so will catch up.
    Have a great weekend everyone.
