    Being tempted by the sales

    These look sooooooo comfy!

Would be fab for walking Maisie - I have walking boots but not great this time of year as it's so wet and wellies are just so blinking cold!

    But they're not cheap!

Will see if I can find something else!
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!
  • No, not cheap, but investment.

Likely to last longer than cheaper ones which therefore makes them cheaper in the long run. I bought a pair of fur lined kickers in 2007. Debated over them for ages as they were £80. They are still going strong and have kept my feet toastie warm walking in winter ever since. A friend of mine has bought £30 winter boots every year since then, has complained of cold toes most years & had blisters from some!!

I know which option makes more MSE sense to me......

Thanks Lurker .... I'm afraid I did a double take as when I 1st read I thought you'd put "fur lined knickers" and wondered how on earth you washed them for them to still be going strong after 5 years :rotfl:

Yup - I do need to go to Spec*savers :rotfl: - eyes really overdue a test & I can tell I need new glasses but have been told to wait until I've finished my steroids as these can apparently change your vision:(

Anyway ..... had a hunt through and nothing else that's similar (and less expensive) - they did have some Mucker boots
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ladies-Mucker-Close-Stable-Wellies/dp/B0045EY56W/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1356620699&sr=8-5

Various different tops on top of the wellie bit .... actually have 2 brand new pairs of these in the garage but too uncomfy since I've had my foot op :(

Did manage to get my fleece lined zip mucker type boots on with an extra pair of socks today - these are OK but the zip goes too far down so useless if you need to go through a puddle (wonder who designs some of these things).

Will debate on it overnight!:) (This is the new me if I WANT something, I have to ponder on it rather than impulse buying!):D

I think I am now quite good at not impulse buying.... So much so I still have vouchers from my big birthday earlier in the year....

Ahhhhhh wonder if that could possibly be the same big birthday I had earlier in the year too ;)and I found some vouchers I got in a drawer the other day that I'd completely forgotten about even better as they're for a gardening centre .... which has a clothing (incl boots!) section - I may well take a wander up and see if there's any there I could get instead!

    Thanks for that!:T
